fruity lerlups Posted May 20, 2024 i want a wad with some slaughter challenges but not super insanely difficult, short and punchy. Something I could figure out after a few tries, with short punchy slaughter arenas, something like Fast Food! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The maps are all really small and feel like they aren't overwhelming even when difficult. They're also pretty nice visually and most maps don't feel like they're following slaughtermap cliches too much. "Vanguard" isn't really slaughter, but it's a good starting point for getting into it, and also "Kama Sutra" and "Kama Sutra II: Fuck This". "Kama Sutra III: Getting Hard Now" is probably a bit too stiff of a challenge though. Edited May 20, 2024 by TheMagicMushroomMan 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Wahrnehmungskrieg Posted May 20, 2024 Will echo the suggestion of MSCP: it plays almost like a tutorial wrt slaughter to those uninitiated, and to those more initiated it works as a pleasant drilldown. Late Scythe/Scythe 2; Rush; Combat Shock 2; early-mid Slaughterfest 2011+2012: that was (partially) how I cut my teeth on slaughter and its adjacencies, in that order. Don't think any of them are too taxing with the right mindset going in. I've recommended Speed of Doom elsewhere also: I played it after I'd played the aforementioned so it doesn't fit into my own progression, but that one is also worth getting into. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

If anybody sees this i'm gonna be doing some MSCP! Come watch me if you can i'll be streaming it 10AM AEST 01/06/2024 or 8PM EST 31/05/2024 depending on your timezone !! it'd be nice to have some people join in https://www.youtube.com/@fruitylerlups530/videos 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Shepardus Posted May 20, 2024 Sunder For People Who Don't Have Time To Play Sunder: Tetraptykon: Junkfood series (earlier maps tend to be more accessible than later ones): 4 Quote Share this post Link to post
rita remton Posted May 20, 2024 oceanside, a very light-slaughter map. the 3 maps introduced me to slaughter gameplay in a gradual manner. before that, i did not even dare download such genre :P 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

Daytime Waitress Posted May 20, 2024 Also not a slaughter player, but I found these pretty engaging and approachable: And of course the Junkfood series that Shepardus posted above. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

Lila Feuer Posted May 20, 2024 I'd be very careful with Hell Revealed II it gets very sloggy very quickly and some maps will run you dry of resources because they're relentless with spam. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Zerofuchs Posted May 20, 2024 Junkfood's already been recommended which is what I'd have suggested first and foremost. The older Slaughterfest packs might be a good option as well, I generally suggest SF2012 as a good balance between insane monster spam and player patience. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

FlyingGoner Posted May 20, 2024 MSCP is a good suggestion, but you should be careful of MAP14. This map is a huge difficulty spike with a very hardcore final fight. That fight is significantly harder than anything from Sunlust imo, and I had to spend 6.5 hours and die 300+ times to beat it 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
