The thing is, for this to be true, we’d have to acknowledge that demons are egg-laying creatures, and that opens a whole ‘nother can of worms.

Honestly, it's not the worst idea proposed here. Like, no one has really bothered thinking of lore for the artifacts so it's as good an idea as any. Although their size in proportion to the Spectres is slightly concerning....

@Grungo I look at the Blur Sphere same as the Stealth Boy in the Fallout Games.  The Nightkin were just Super Mutants who used the Stealth Boys to remain Invisible same idea here.  The Specters are just Pinky Demons that have used the Blur Sphere (since it's a Hell Artifact) to remain invisible.  When you use it you're just using their own items to give you the same power.

They are likely more to do with distilled energy taken from spectres, or the reverse, artifacts that bleed into demons and make them permanently 'invisible'

I'll admit, it's a bit of an interesting headcanon, to say the least... Makes me wonder if spectres are spectres because of a mutated gene needed for survival or if it's just a matter of genetic diversity between demons...

And the second one? Also if we figure that the pinkies are egg laying creatures, what about the other demons? I don’t think cyberdemons and revenants are laying eggs, at least I hope not.

 

Really, we just need clarifications on how demon reproduction works because right now it’s unclear.
