pltr Posted May 25, 2024 My favorite versions of the Doom I and Doom II soundtracks are the ones recorded by Michael Massay. https://www.doomworld.com/classicdoom/info/music.php?wad=doom2.wad I love the way they sound despite their flaws like excess reverb or chorus or whatever. However, they have a big issue - they don't loop correctly! The mp2 files end with a bit of silence, so when I use the tracks while playing, I have to wait a bit before the track starts playing again. Compare this to MIDIs where, when the final note ends, the track immediately starts playing again. Do looping versions of Massay's recordings exist, and are they available to download? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
plums Posted May 25, 2024 (edited) I have no idea if looping versions of those recordings exist, but I would guess not. You can make some yourself if you are so inclined. Use a free audio editor -- I like Ocenaudio -- and zoom into the start of the file and trim the silence off. Then do the same for the end, except you'll need to trim at approximately where the end of the track will be. (If you want the loop to be more seamless, cut the extra audio at the end, and mix paste it back at the start. But in most cases I doubt you'll be able to tell.) Play the song back near the end with a loop on, and if it sounds OK, save it as an mp3 with a high bitrate (320 kbps is good if you're not short on disk space). If there were only one or two tracks I would do it for you, but with this many it's going to take a little while. Edited May 25, 2024 by plums 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
