This is a little tyson gimmick map, for map01, I made, its part of a bigger set i'm planning called Slaughter School which will just be some short punchy levels involving slaughter scenarios using a single weapon (e.g. fists, super shotgun, rocket launcher, etc.) but this was a test of me trying to get boom functionalities working, including a timed combat scenario!! some quick notes >boom format, tested in dsda and gzdoom, works well, compat 9 >difficulty levels implemented, you get a shotguns on lower levels, if you're a wimp who can't punch out revenants jks jks >the final timed scenario will sometimes not spawn all the monsters because the monsters block the teleport destinations, i decided i'm ok with that so if you don't get 100% kills at the end its for that reason, in future i'll design timed scenarios with that in mind but i was mostly focused on getting the timed encounter working! DeetOpianSky Posted June 2 (edited) A fun map, while not an experienced tyson player it was quite challenging and had some fun encounters; and probably made me a bit better at playing tyson ! Some notes: You want to specify the comp level in your title, BOOM will be either 9 or 11 depending on if you use any MBF functionality. I played (and demo was recorded) in comp level 9. The archvile and invuln didn't spawn in in the demo provided, may need some adjustments to your monster closets; it did spawn in another demo where I skipped some monsters prior to entering the MMA octagon fight and decided to only send the attached. I could not access the mega or other items in the Hellknight que line, not sure of how these are acquired as I haven't opened the map in an editor; may have been me just eager to get back to the octagon and not wanting to spend additional time secret hunting! =) Great work over all and I'm eager to see more! Lila Feuer Posted June 2 Not too hard, a bit of time spent punching out HKs, wasn't aware of the invul initially at the end in the middle because it got obscured by the blue armor and medikit that spawn in, so I "won" the first time by killing the boss brain in time. Second time I was benefitted by the invul. I'm not exactly a seasoned tyson player so I'd imagine this won't give the more experienced too much trouble, that said the music is funny and it's a cute little romp to just beat some things up for a few minutes. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

But yeah just a fun little romp and i intend the whole project to feel not too stressful but a focus on difficult scenarios 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Proxy-MIDI Posted June 2 Congrats for this premiere ! The map was a bit easy and the fights were avoidable. Next time, try to reduce the space to let the player make the fight and have some trouble in that case. ;) The architecture was correct and the last room was pretty interesting to its conception.
