Abruma

 

Abruma is a small map made for the Ultimate Doom. Initially I was going to delete this one due to my lack of motivation but I ended up finishing it! I then shared it in a Doom server and people seemed to like it, so... I'm now sharing it here! This is also the first map I publish on the internet, so please give feedback if you play it.

 

Tested with Woof! and Chocolate Doom (it somehow worked!!)

MIDI is "Introducing Mrs. Tier F" by Peter, from the TNT MIDI Pack.

Putting Lost Souls in front of the chaingun is probably the worst thing you could do! But it's otherwise a tough and tense sort of romp.

This is a very chaotic start.

60 seconds in and already killed half of the map's population, needless to say the rocky start is not for everyone. Enjoyable simple level, I'd like to see you make something a little condensed!

Indeed, talking about hot start! Got your same feelings about the gameplay experience.

It's kinda rare see a slaughter-style map for original Doom, i liked the Courtyard style gimmick of the map start!

Cool frantic little level! Beat it on my second try in 4 minutes. I wouldn't mind a whole episode like this tbh.

Thank you all for playing! Sorry for not answering earlier, I was busy with irl stuff.

I do plan to make an episode out of this. since I have a few more ideas I want to flesh out. Hopefully they'll be as "slaughtery" as this one (without barons ofc c:).

Cute map, this type of run n' gun is exactly my cup of tea, very fun hot start and hordes of zombiemen that you can mow down in a satisfying manner with the chaingun while charging forwards to not run out of ammo. I liked the surprise on the secret, grouped enemies that you can blast with the RL is always fun. I enjoyed it so I'm glad you didn't scrap the idea. : )
