I love my job [unironically]

Recommended Posts

I get to work great hours (7 to 3), keep myself in good health, and basically play IRL multiplayer minecraft shooting the shit with some of the funniest, most considerate, and wise people I've ever met.

That’s great news, OP. Is this a new job for you? I guess it’s a good time of year for landscaping in a lot of places.

Eyup, just did day #4. I've done under-the-table roofing and concrete prep before so "hard work" to me is just "work".

Rode around on the fucking john deere three-wheeler on the roadway doing hand signals like an idiot transporting company tools around the neighbourhood.

I love my job delivering for Amazon. I deliver packages to nice air conditioned apartment buildings while spinning music, sports talk radio or video essays on my phone. Easiest job I've ever had.

Cool.  The fact that you enjoy hard, honest work that screws Uncle Sam out of his slice speaks volumes of your character.  I approve, not that you need that.

Ice baths will help a lot with the muscle soreness.  And don't forget to stretch or you'll get old too fast.

Uncle Sam? His slice? I'm Canadian and this is over-the-table work. My wages are nearing $20 per hour officially, but due to taxes slim out to as low as about $13 per hour - rounding down.

My money isn't going to Uncle Sam's new toys, it's going to Justin's Onlyfans subscriptions.

Whoops, didn't know you live in Canada.  Good job bucking that politeness stereotype.

I love my job knowing what it means for others.

Sadly my co-workers are carreer men and have the benefit of having the support of a idiotic manager.

Quite literally told him his policy doesn't work.

Today it is revealed that the biggest numbskull in the department gets a promotion to Senior and thus a different wage scale (His current position is maxed out).

All that for someone who

  • is Sexist
  • Doesn't register changes
  • Doesn't register tickets
  • Isn't actually a coleague
  • And loves the ladies

There is nothing woke about this but logically this doesn't follow. But then again this manager's policy of chaos and ad-hoc isn't logical either.

I live in the state, under the martial and legal rule of, the Canadian people - who live out East, between the lakes of Huron, Ontario, and Erie, vaguely bordered to the north by Ottawa river until it reaches the St. Lawrence, wherein the St. Lawrences coastlines plus about 80 or so miles out also find themselves included.

Those people, with their material needs, historical influences, and cultural backgrounds are whom that lord over me. I am not one of them. I was born in Alberta, about 100 miles north of Montana. I have never seen the oceans of the world, nor have I met someone whose native tounge is French. I have nigh nothing in common with those of Laurentia - the place where "Canadian people" live. I have entirely different societal needs and an entirely different worldview. I live in a place that is realistically so far removed from Laurentia, where the laws and political policy in which I live under are written, that if we as groups never had any further communication, we would speak an entirely different language in only a millenia. We are not the same, and therefore we are foreign to eachother.

And due to the election system we live under, and the simple reality that our land is far more barren leading to a lower population, we do not have even remotely fair representation. Our interests are seen as second-priority, and we are suffering for it. I am not represented by the Canadian government, as an Albertan, and yet they literally tax me. They're stealing from me.

anyways yeah nah mate I'm not a Canadian, I'm an Albertan. If there was considerate reform to the current Canadian Parliament to accomidate not only the individual needs of Alberta as does it accomidate that of every other province, then I would consider changing that. Until then, I'm an Albertan. Don't get me confused.

I work at a fast food restaurant in my area and honestly, I love it. Keeps me busy, gives me an excuse to listen to albums (I do the dishes mainly, so I bring a speaker to the back in the little sink area), and I get to interact with a bunch of people. Sure, there are some bad things about my job, but they don't necessarily affect me.

I really like my job. We've adopted 100% work from home / anywhere since Covid quarantines in Melbourne Australia.

I'm in Marketing and take on a mix of responsibilities but there isn't much pressure, I feel like I'm my own Boss and can take any time / breaks I want, I am good at what I do, my managers and colleagues are very respectful, and I have a reputation of being very productive and knowledgeable.

I'd love to get a big pay rise considering many others in my role would get a higher salary however I prefer happiness with great work life balance as oppose to chasing a dollar.

Sounds like a complete sleezebag. And that's being polite.

But it's good to hear you like your job @act; I do too. Would that everyone were so fortunate.

Yep. But if you are his boss and you only see what you can see (Which is him working) you don't see all the mess that happens in practice.

just snitch on him to hr already, this is a white collar job and i have absolutely no desire to quell the gasoline fire that is employee culture in 90% of white collar environments. Just get that guy out, turn the world against him as he would've had upon you. Then don't do it again lmfao

I'm satisfy of my job. A long time ago i was a computer service technician in a french company called Orange. In 2016, i decided to change and to become a developer, so i did a training in a school called EPSI, and shortly after i found a job as a JavaScript, CSS, HTML and SAP developer in an international company since 5 years. I have also another project: mastering Agile and Scrum languages. I work at home so it contains advantages like self organisation for example and to avoid the painful traffic jam, but sometimes for technicals reasons i work at the agency before the intervention of the network administrators. Yes, i'm satisfy because, with years, i will become a senior developer with evolutionary experiment. But i know that i've got to improve my english, 'cause most of the time it is approximate ;)

Learned helplessness is the giving-up reaction, the quitting response that follows from the belief that whatever you do doesn't matter.
