HDoomFan666 Posted June 15, 2024 (edited) YO! Here's a very short map I've been working on for the past week; called Small Mars Outpost or TEKBASE.WAD. It is just 1 map, made for Doom 2, for GZDoom(Doom format) , but playable in CrispyDoom with minor bugs. (mirror and exit sign not showing "%" symbol instead) (I'm still a beginner, so i wouldn't be surprised if it was removed, but constructive criticism is welcome) Screencaps: Spoiler Enjoy, I guess. LadyMistDragon Posted June 15, 2024 Hey, it would be one thing if it was just a collection of STARTAN boxes with something like 2000 monsters but that's not what this is at all and even those don't get deleted! Shepardus Posted June 15, 2024 You don't have to worry about your stuff getting removed unless you included the whole IWAD in your WAD (which you didn't do) or something like that. Nice small map, I like the lighting and detailing. Took me a while to find the switch to get out of the first room. It seems to me that the author, as they say, overdid it with detailing, but nevertheless tried very hard, and it is noticeable. There are a lot of flaws with misalignment and cluttering textures as much as possible in a room, which turned out chaotic which, on the contrary, kills authenticity and ambiance. One of the logics with getting the key is broken. There is a platform that needs to be activated in another room, but what's the point if you can just jump off the stairs and take the key. In general, the mapper did quite well, I wish him more perseverance and use as much time as needed, the main thing in this matter is not to rush, we'll wait. PS.: My little advice, compress your images and upload them sparingly, as doomworld has a limit on file placement per account, and at this rate it can be used up quickly. Yeah, i kinda f***ed up that part with the exit platform, i didn't know that the player could jump off the stairs to get the red key; since i didn't playtest that part much, sorry abt that. And i probably should've made the switch in the storage room raise the stairs up (IDK how to do that in vanilla format) instead of them being raised already.
