What if Doom episodes were re-imagined as Doom CRPG tcs?

Grungo has thought "what if classic doom was *reimagined* as a Classic fallout game, where the game is a turn based rpg, with skills, quests, factions, dialouge, companions, stats, builds, endings.

 

and before you say "GRUNGO YOU ABOLSUTE FUCKING MENTALLY DISABLED TROGLIDYTE, THAT IDEA IS SO STUPID, WE SHALL SACRIFICE YOU TO THE SUN GOD FOR A BETTER HARVEST", well me said it now.

 

grungo think this idea would be nice as parody, well a serious parody, a parody that mimics something but doesn't do it in a mocking SNL cheap joke way that's half assed.

 

Me'd like the idea because the player could re-experience in a different way. but this is how Grungo'd imagine it

first thing's first, every episode of doom would be transformed into it's own game, or perhaps... episode, where once you beat the first episode, you're thrown into the next, and each game/episode would have it's own unique map that resembles episodes 1-3's intermission screen.

 

each map from doom 1 would now be turned into a "location" also known as settlements and areas, such as for example, shady sands, klamath, new reno, mariposa, the list goes on.

 

each location would have quests and struggles but have simularities to doom maps they are based on.

 

another thing, maybe perhaps the conflict of the story is UAC workers and demons having fueds and conquest control, or maybe some demons are slaves to bigger demons which would make some not hostile. maybe some of the quests would result in making a deal with demons and humans from separarte isolationist locations into a agreement. the way I'd make the lore is kinda like half life where aliens/demons are just sometimes slaves for higher ups. which would result in new communities temporarly on the phobos base and you'd see demons and humans being friendly... well tolerant, a lot of demons would be angry and hostile.

 

It'd be kinda funny to also sprinkle in caravans and random encounters like fallout. with some of classic doom's lore tweaked.

 

maybe the main antagonist of the first episode would be the baron bro's protecting the gateway and you have to fight them at the end. and throughout episode 1, you hear rumors about two higher ups from another sector gaurding a portal that is rumored to go to earth.

 

as for weapons, they'd mirror doom, but also sprinkle in new guns, weither it's real world weapons, weapons from doom mods, easter eggs, whatever.

 

also companions, you could have a human companion that's skilled in UAC tech but isn't good at fighting, or a imp buddy that's into guitar music and shoots fireballs and uses SMGs, or a crack shot veteran zombie who has trouble speaking but shoots very well.

 

the point is, I love classic fallout and I'd love to see doom re-imagined as a CRPG with factions, funny lines, and good fights.

Ok, yeah, Strife isn't turn-based and doesn't have companions that follow you around to my knowledge, but this still reminds me of Strife tbh

I like where your head's at, Grungo. I'm not sure how well it would work out, but I love Classic Fallout and wouldn't mind seeing it get a Doom makeover.
