LOL hey, that's not bad. I actually kind of enjoy shooting sailors (odd statement to make, I know). Nope, not bad at all.

That's the first monster sprite I've made, and I know it ain't great, but I had fun making it.
It turned out quite cartoonish, so it's kinda like the original SS guy in that respect.

Edit: On a more serious note, if you keep the sailors as the secret enemy, it would be cool to have the secret level music be offbeat sailing music. Try listening to the band Flogging Molly for inspiration, especially their track "Salty Dog".
