Atum Ra Posted October 20, 2003 How do i get any of the source ports to recognise freedoom as an IWAD? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

fraggle Posted October 20, 2003 Dont try to use the freedoom.wad file as an IWAD: this is not an IWAD, only a resource wad. Download the doom2.wad file from the download page and use this as an IWAD. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Atum Ra Posted October 21, 2003 the freedoom wad is just not being accepted as any kind of legit wad, whether i rename it from doom2.wad.gz (to doom2.wad)or not!!!! Im really interested to see the freedom take on things so it is a little annoying that they wont be recognised! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
geekmarine Posted October 21, 2003 Oh... You have to unzip it. The .gz means it's a gzipped file. Use Winzip or something on that thing and extract the .WAD from it. Simply renaming it isn't enough. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
