So the Gamecube is a direct descendent of the PS2 then?

Well, the XBox has a hard drive so theoretically it could crash like Legacy does all the time...

I'd say Boom/prBoom were a bit like the original Playstation (glBoom is the sexed-up version like the PSX), as they are somewhat older than most but were also revolutionary. (and a lot of newer stuff is based on them) And it's still pretty sophisticated compared to the modern ports and gets used a lot.

UD: Prboom is a modern port. 2.2.4 and a 2.3.0 beta were released in September 2003.
