Ah :P *silly me*

However the answer to whether MAP18: Excess Meat can be beat is not there :P Do you know if it can be beaten? That blue key upon the crate sure don't seem to be possible to pick up. Or is it a 'fake' key?

Nope, it's no fake, but it is a tad tricky to get. There are some stacked crates very close to the key. You gotta run from the smallest crates, arranged around another small crate, onto the nearby crate, then run up the two crates to the key.

Ok, got it now, thanks. It was tricky indeed. But I should have figured it out myself :P Thanks anyways though.

Nope, it's no fake, but it is a tad tricky to get.

Originally, the key was just on the floor, but I thought that was a bit simple(and it looked bad, too). However, I should've ignored the Darkening E2 inspiration and made it a bit easier. All it's going to do is slow people down. Sorry... :-)

Ugh.. that Darkening 2 keygrab has to be the most annoying in the history of DooM!... For me anyways... Don't know how many tries it took me to do it the first time.. At least 40 or 50. :-/ I became better at it since then, but still can't pull it off consistently.

Improved my Map04 demo a bit, now 3:20. Still not satisfied but that's all I can do for now :)

I uploaded Map14 Max in 6:39. I'll try it tomorrow again.

EDIT: I had not much sleep this night. After waking up one hour ago, I started immediately playing this map again and improved it to 5:46. A nice start into the day :)

Rewatched h214-546: I wasted a BFG shot on a single imp and had some problems with weapon switching after that. Without this stupid blackout it would be a good demo. No, I'm not satisfied anymore. I have to play this map again.

just uploaded a snazzy little trickjump i found for MAP07...don't know if it was known before, was this map in the beta or anything? I like it anyway. could help a speedrun. hr207trik-adamw.zip is the file.

btw, i'm fairly sure my map07 jump makes the level possible...pacifist :). it'll be pretty hairy once the blue key archies get released, but I think still possible. I'll work on it tomorrow. Bet that wasn't one the team expected to see :D

Heh, thanks Ops... Glad you like the demo man. Its a fun map to play, but I always get murder"ized" when I really try to push it... So, think that'll be the last demo I try to do on that level.

EDIT : Also, Altima, have you tried anymore runs on map29? Sounds like you got pretty far in the run you had going.

And Vile, really nice demo for map31! Nice to see a demo for that map finally up and running, I don't think there was another one for the beta was there?

Hmm, think I might try map15 for a bit... Seems like it'll be able to keep one occupied for quite a while, to say the least. :)

No, I haven't tried since then. I'm still trying to figure out how the hell I could get past that damn mass of Archies where I died that time at 39 minutes. I think I've an idea, now it's just a matter of being able to survive.

Radek told me a very risky strategy that might help me with the area with the Arachnotrons and the 3 Cybies and all those Revenants on the nearby hillside....so I will give that a try and see just how it works out there.

But yeah, if you guys wanna see the 39-minute death of mine, let me know and I'll put it up either on the FTP or I'll upload it to the Blood Lust image archives =)

Thanks bro, and no, there doesn't seem to be any runs at dsda, so I guess none were ever made. In the first beta the level was impossible because of an impassable linedef, but another beta fixed it.

EDIT: actually, I remember now where the linedef was and it was possible to bypass it, but still a pain. It was one of the tunnels in the room where the 4 cyberdemons teleport in. A dual archie-jump would have solved that problem (with the invuln).

FINALLY finished that damn volcano...you know the one. H229? =) Got a Max-Kill exit time of 45:16 for it...

You can find it in the FTP ^_^

Now I think I'll go to bed, since I've been up all night working on it just to get this one exit... -.-'

You're talking about map12 I guess? :-) Well I'm sorry about that one, I won't do it again. OK?

I just happen to be much better at trickjumping than at fighting enemies, so when I built it I thought it was just "tricky" and along the lines of the rest of the map, but it seems it ended up being "near impossible". I would LOVE to see some optimized demo for the map, but I guess it won't happen since noone has patience with the crate jumps... But opulent heroically did a demo, anyway.

Oh, sorry about the thread-jacking btw, I'll go watch some HR2 demos now.

yeah, I should improve those crappy Map12 demos. that was my intention. the Darkening2 excitement subsided and I haven't gone back yet. I will sometime, that map still may be the best map ever made for the real game.

And yep, I think its time for Vile to make Mince Meat of this puppy... Map27, that is.. I was actually wondering whats taking him so long... HINT, HINT Vile... :)

Been a bit absent the last few days, everything seems to be going well though.

Uploaded a h229 max in 29:11, with a couple of changes to Altima's route. This should be very easy to improve but I just haven't had the time.

I just started to play it on amateur level, I mean slow and carefull play with savegames.
I might try to record some demos from it. Although I have a job that eats most of my time and energy, I'll attempt to record some undone yet maps.
But so far I only have WinXP so I can only use prBoom to make v1.9 demos.

I have not play doom seriously for almost a year, so do not expect great stuff :)

Things were slowing down a bit so I made demos for map22 (15:17) and 26 (15:12), unfortunately the FTP won't let me upload for some reason so I emailed them to Doug. Hopefully they'll be posted soon so you can watch them soon, although they should be easy to beat lol.
