Downloading

I was wondering what exactly i need to download to play freedoom. Do i just get the one iwad or do i need to download all the resource wads as well

Just the IWAD, and a source port.

You need either the freedoom or the shareware wads. The shareware wad can only be used as a replacement for engines running in shareware mode- i.e. it won't be very useful for playing PWADs.
