I've asked this before, but I'll ask again. This time, reply to me in "idiot" language (or "simpleton", is that better?).

EDGE 1.26 freezes my whole system during the initial setup as soon as the title music stops playing. And I even unzipped the DDF pack into my Doom directory. What the fuck is going on? My friend said it worked fine for him, and he knows less about computers than I do!


If you're gonna respond with something about DirectX, then do one of 2 things:

1. Tell me step by step instructions if you have the patience

2. If you don't, then don't bother replying!

BTW, every time this happens, I have to cold boot my system, thus having to run scandisk when it's done. I doubt defragging my hard drive will do any good. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

do you have the newest version of DirectX ? if you don't know, go to http://www.microsoft.com/directx and get, then try again

Nevermind, problem soloved. I just use the "-nomusic" command line parameter.

Funny EDGE 1.26 runs fine on my comp. And with music playing, too. =P

I can't adjust the volume of the music and Edge goes "not responding" on me when i quit it.....otherwise it runs fine here too
