Hellbound Hillbilly Posted October 27, 2004 Well for Doom 64 Fans...... I've been to several Doom sites in search of someone who can host my weapons pk3 for Doom 64 TC.....Is anyone here interested? If so here it is (MUST RIGHT CLICK & SAVE TARGET AS) http://n.1asphost.com/Doommods/Weapons.pk3 http://n.1asphost.com/Doommods/Weapons Info.txt Here is an example http://img68.exs.cx/img68/1261/DOOM02.png http://img68.exs.cx/img68/6604/DOOM02a.png Hope everyone likes them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nmn Posted October 27, 2004 I'm interested in seing these weapons but the method You've used to post them is too tedaious and time-consuming, not to mention uncomfortable. Use a free host (reccomendation): http://www.1asphost.com/ ^ Good free host http://www.nos-sr50.com/wads/ ^ Our friend from Zdoom forums provide us with an easy to use server for zips. Make the weapons pack 1 usable pk3 file and zip them and then post them. Thanks. EDIT: What I see didn't raise my pulse. I hope the pack is worthy tough. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Nmn Posted October 27, 2004 You're welcome. I've played it (me is a good D64 Fan) What You have done is enlargened the old graphics and applied textures and filters to make them Hi-res. That's a good concept, tough the changes are not THAT noticeable in the game (the sprites look pretty much the same, however the plasma gun's and BFG's new lights are very visible and the chainsaw's new hi-res blades look very nice). Overal a nice addition to the tc, nice job. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Hellbound Hillbilly Posted October 27, 2004 Nmn said: What You have done is enlargened the old graphics and applied textures and filters to make them Hi-res.[/B] Ugh I wish It Were That easy.....I tried that, But That still didn't help the fact that they were low-res to begin with...So I had to enlarge, then go in and take the jagged edges off of each frame. Then I applied the Filters....But like you said thats alot of work for something that still looks very similar to the original. But I'm no great artist I just do what I can....I'm still hoping someone with better talent will come along and redraw them completely! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Chronoteeth Posted October 30, 2004 Uh....How the hell do you open pk3 files? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Grazza Posted October 30, 2004 Winzip should do the trick. Maybe other programs of that type would work too. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Snarboo Posted October 30, 2004 Ultimate Zip is a great program, and it's freeware. It can open just about any file type, except for .7z files, I think. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ShaneAmp Posted October 30, 2004 Well i know the sprites were originally models, screenshots were taken from them to make sprites, if they were to be released, then someone could maybe even do completely different animations for them. As for textures, im not sure, but i once looked through a strategy guide for d64, and throughout it, there were high resolution versions of the same textures used in the game. Ever noticed how much better the pictures of the sprites looked in the manual? those r just higher resolution versions. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
