Everybody wants a new romance! Everybody's goin' off the deep end! Sorry. Ken Scott of id Software fame (you've heard of them, right?) has updated his .plan with news that id Software is hiring. In specific they're looking for a 3D environmental artist. You need to have experience with a bunch of 3D modeling applications and be good at art and such. I don't know if anyone who fits that actually reads DW, but you never know, right?

This is where I wish I had stuck with 3d max. Although, it doesn't matter, since they require you to have industry experience, which sucks. Cause I don't have that. :p

I did too, they gave me a job as Employment Manager. So I fired Ralphis.

I love my work.

I am underqualified, simply for not having a commercially released title, but know what id looks for *when* they look for people is a big plus.

My resume includes half-a-dozen Boom maps made in the late 90s, a tattoo appretiship and making faked photoshopped porn of Paris Hilton to hang on our studio wall.. I also know how to make a pretty bitchin Monte Cristo

Christ, people...

It says "experience preferred". That means if your work was so impressive, they'd be willing to look past the fact that you've neve worked on a released product.

In fact, I'd bet they quite enjoy it. Nothing better than getting the opportunity to mold an employee without having to hear "that's not how they did it at my other job" all day...

i don't see the word "preferred" anywhere on that document. Sounds like unless you've worked on a commercially released product you're SOL.
