DooMBoy Posted November 17, 2001 I tried to run the ICD-DDF WAD you can find at the Immoral Conduct place. It says that you have to run the file with the command line. I did exactly what the readme.txt said to do. I tried with GLEDGE32. Didn't work. Same old Doom. Tried again with EDGE32, and the damned thing still didn't work. Same weapons. What is UP with that? Is is not supposed to work? I hate the MS-DOS/command line bullshit. 0 Share this post Link to post
IAMADORK Posted November 17, 2001 maybe you need a different source port. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kid Airbag Posted November 17, 2001 Really? I'd much rather use a command line than some annoying Front-end. At least in most cases. 0 Share this post Link to post
Psyonisis Posted November 17, 2001 Command line shit is gay in Windows... especially when you have to create a new shortcut and stuff will all these parameters argh 0 Share this post Link to post

What can be simpler than DOOM -FILE PATHNAME\FILENAME.WAD ? 0 Share this post Link to post

Peter Heinemann Posted November 17, 2001 PC DOS 7.0 is really nice. I love command lines. Btw, I have added a DOS to my Mac, it is called MacDos and allows to manage some things in the Mac OS a bit easier. Recently a friend who also uses MacOS saw that desktop he got big eyes and called me pervert :) Uddate: MacDos is just a kind of application, that has to be started after the OS runs. 0 Share this post Link to post
dr_st Posted November 18, 2001 I dare all you who fear DOS to type the following command. ECHO Y | FORMAT C: 0 Share this post Link to post

KING ELVIS Posted November 18, 2001 DOS itself is shit because of 16 Bit. ...but the Win2K Shell is necessary if you want to to some freaky things...and it's Win32 :) 0 Share this post Link to post
Katarhyne Posted November 20, 2001 Actually, it's amusing to note that WinXP's "Recovery Console" is Unix. Seriously. Go play with it. 0 Share this post Link to post

Sephiroth Posted November 21, 2001 how can u hate DOS?!!! DOS rules, even if i am an up and coming LINUX user DOS still kicks ass. you just need to take time and leanr it. Also not all doom ports or other programs will run with DOS, or they will do some strange things. Take time to practice DOS. Hey at least we dont have to type in this command "high" to play doom anymore, but in a sad little way i miss the high command. 0 Share this post Link to post
