One of favourites would have to be the original System Shock. That is some of the best midi's I've ever heard, including the ones in Doom 1 :)

I really liked the music in Mech Warrior 2. They were a little short, but quite inspirational for me.

I forgot to list Mechwarrior 2 also, the first track I think is the best one.

Also, that Quake mission packs had an awesome soundtrack, and were done by the Mechwarrior 2 guy, Jeehan Hwang. Does anybody know any other soundtracks this guy did? All of his soundtracks so far just rule.

I´ll have to say Final Fantasy series on this one.

Final Fantasy VI (FF3 in USA) has the best music.
Terras theme is the best.

Samurai Shodown 1,2,3 and 4 for the NeoGeo has some good music too.

Quake 2, any of the Final Fantasy games, Daggerfall, Sin, Doom Troopers for SNES (no relation to the Doom series except that it was gory as hell), Shadow Warrior, Hexen I and II, the Metal Gear series (NES Metal Gear games), Breath of Fire (SNES), Doom I, Doom II, Descent II, GoldenEye, Perfect Dark, Turok 3, Turok Rage Wars, and The World is Not Enough.

Yes, I have played many games, but those are the absolute best for music IMHO.

Qauke - you mean "quake" instead of "Qauke"? The biggest mistake that iD software made was not including music WITH the game... ive never heard quake 1 music.

Qauke 2 - music sucked becasue it was in cd form.

Chasm - never heard of it

Duke Nukem - didnt know that dn3d had music.

Doom (all games, all platforms) - [pops knuckles], Id have to say that doom2's D_ADRIAN (map25 music) was my most favorite (nice to listen to when doing jump-kills with the SSg in some port of doom like legacy). Although map05's and map18's were memorable too. Doom1's E3m4, e2m4, e1m5, and e2m5 were all pretty good. Memento mori's map07 music and memento mori 2's map30 music were good too.

Half life + Opposing Forces (i think), havent played either one of em.

Twisted Metal (all series) - never played em' prolly wouldnt want to play em either because it's characters are cars.

Einhänder, yes! Man, I love that game! I could never have guessed how good a insane shoot-em-up game fits with german techno-music. It's the best shoot-em-up game ever.

And it's Einhänder, not Einhander. (yeah, I know, I also hate when people make that stupid remarks :)
