ReFracture Posted August 4, 2007 A wad I am currently working on uses alternative sound effects for the cyberdemon. They Sound great in zDoom, but in PRBoom they are absolutely terrible. This wad needs to be completely boom compatible, but getting rid of the sounds is not the solution I'm looking for. Heres a zip that has both a wad with a level made to show the sounds, and the actual sound files. http://prboom-plus.sourceforge.net/sounds.zip 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I don't know of any 'good' places, so you can download it off of my http server for now. http://71.219.21.155:7777/sounds.zip 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Searcher Posted August 4, 2007 File sharing sites include The following. They all have their pluses and minuses. Look a few of them over. fileanchor.com rapidshare.com savefile.com sharebigfile.com 1010mb.com/ http://s12.quicksharing.com/ http://files-upload.com/ I am sure there are many others. edit: The link is broken as mentioned by myk. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

myk Posted August 4, 2007 Thanks, entryway DSHOOF is fucked up. It's monged up in both Boom and PrBoom. In fact, WMP 6.4 tries to look for a decompressor and fails to play it. Window's recorder plays it, though. Open DSHOOF in a sound editor and save it as a proper WAV file. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
ReFracture Posted August 4, 2007 Any suggestions on a sound editor to use? I tried using sound recorder to re save them, no difference. Yeah my IP changes way too much. I've had to edit those posts several times to make sure they were accurate. myk said:Then the sounds need to work well in Boom (and probably PrBoom+ unless it somehow handles sound differently). Your link doesn't work. My bad, I meant PRBoom+. The wad i'm working with has so many sidedefs and linedefs in at least one of the levels that it can't run on anything other than prboom+ and zDoom. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Thanks entryway, now demo recording deus vult2 on prboom wont require me tolerating that screwed up cyberdemon sound. Cheers. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
myk Posted August 4, 2007 Yeah, the wake up sound needed to be swapped to the Doom format, and the hoof sound needed that plus being saved as an 8 bit sound first. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Yeah, being 16 bit is what caused it to be so screwed up. Well, I'm glad that was an easy fix. So at this point, everything is 100% compatible with PRBoom+, woot. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
