WAD suggestions?

I'm just getting back into DooM for the first time in a long while, can anyone give me some suggestions for good WADs to play?

Lost Refinery :D (an episode 1 of DooM style map but I believe it's for Doom 2)

Also, I'm having a good time with Alien Vendetta.

Suspended in Dusk. You should be able to run it in anything. It's fully compatible with doom2.exe, but the design is good enough to be impressive and feel modern no matter what you're playing it with.

I recommend all classic megawads - Requiem, Memento Mori 1 & 2, Alien Vendetta, Hell Revealed 1 & 2, Strain, etc..

Again, like the last time this was posted, what constitutes "good" to you? What do you like most and look for when playing Doom?

To get started, I recommend doing as larsboy suggested and read through the Top 100 WADs feature from the 10 Years of Doom articles, and then read through the Cacowards for each year after that. They will cover all of the essentials and the must-play WADs, as well as some generally good stuff. After that, you can browse through old /newstuff Chronicles (just search the News forum, or for the really old reviews myk has an archive of sorts in this forum). You can also try browsing through the /idgames Archive Database. If you're looking to fill a specific interest, you can try asking for suggestions here.
