idkfa Posted January 11, 2008 I'm just getting back into DooM for the first time in a long while, can anyone give me some suggestions for good WADs to play? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
larsboy Posted January 11, 2008 Just read Ten years of Doom - the best wads for each year, and/or the Cacowards for each year since. http://www.doomworld.com/10years/ http://www.doomworld.com/11years/ http://www.doomworld.com/12years/ http://www.doomworld.com/13years/ http://www.doomworld.com/14years/ 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

printz Posted January 11, 2008 KDiZD ;) You'll need ZDoom to play it. http://zdoom.org/News 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
esselfortium Posted January 11, 2008 printz said:;) Suspended in Dusk. You should be able to run it in anything. It's fully compatible with doom2.exe, but the design is good enough to be impressive and feel modern no matter what you're playing it with. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted January 17, 2008 I recommend all classic megawads - Requiem, Memento Mori 1 & 2, Alien Vendetta, Hell Revealed 1 & 2, Strain, etc.. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
BoldEnglishman Posted January 17, 2008 Again, like the last time this was posted, what constitutes "good" to you? What do you like most and look for when playing Doom? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Reckoner Posted January 17, 2008 To get started, I recommend doing as larsboy suggested and read through the Top 100 WADs feature from the 10 Years of Doom articles, and then read through the Cacowards for each year after that. They will cover all of the essentials and the must-play WADs, as well as some generally good stuff. After that, you can browse through old /newstuff Chronicles (just search the News forum, or for the really old reviews myk has an archive of sorts in this forum). You can also try browsing through the /idgames Archive Database. If you're looking to fill a specific interest, you can try asking for suggestions here. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
