StoneFrog Posted October 2, 2008 I mean he "explodes" in Heretic II, whilst in the original he levitated into the air and became elctrified, and then his skeleton fell over into a heap 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

StoneFrog Posted October 2, 2008 Nice! I really like your usage of the default textures. Better than I could do... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

188DarkRevived Posted October 13, 2008 Perhaps the title "D'Sparil's Resurrection" would be more fitting than the title "Curse of D'Sparil" ? My reasons for thinking this way are because that latest image which you posted on the front page shows D'Sapril being crucified like Jesus. The only difference being that he's nailed to a glowing trident instead of to an ordinary wooden cross. You're going to put that image in the titlescreen right? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Another difference is that D'Sparil is the runt of a trio of evil demons, while Jesus is a peace & love philosopher (atheist view) / the human incarnation of the essence of God born to bring a new Covenant between mankind and the Eternal (Christian view) / the Penultimate Prophet (Muslim view). In other words, what says D'Sparil is going to be resurrected? Would be a bit cheap. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted October 13, 2008 Actually, I didn't really have any particular thoughts story wise about that image. Just wanted to have a cool picture to represent the project. Even if d'sparil is resurrected. it'd still be part of his crusyness though. So I don't see any reason to change the name. And you could argue against it being D'sparil on the trident anyway. I just chose the colors that I thought was most fitting. (which is really the only thing that suggest that it is D'sparil) In the titlepic version, the garbs are different as the trims are purple instead of gold. (But i've not shown you that so you couldn't possibly know that. :p) It's really originally intended to be Corvus hanging there. But green/sand colored cloak wasn't as fancy. So I didn't go with it. Though maybe i should've. I dunno. I've not even written any kind of story for this anyway. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Well, even evil sorcerors have an equal chance of getting resurrected. I mean, just look at those Harry Potter novels and movies. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
StoneFrog Posted October 14, 2008 Exactly. I see nothing wrong with the image he made. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted October 14, 2008 This is interesting. When I made Phobia and spent a lot of time on my deep distorted story, hoping that to read some speculations about it. (Yes, I did. Wanted to see if and what people made out of it.) There were really not many (there were one guy) who bothered with the story. But here that I am making a quick episode for Heretic and admits to not really spending time with the story. People are discussing it before I even finished it. Probably because there's a back story to consider. But still. Interesting, and a bit disheartening. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
StoneFrog Posted October 14, 2008 Nah. They're just trying to find some big meaning in the pimpin' image you made. I didn't even realize it was D'Sparil at first, due to the lack of trims on his robe. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

It's hard to keep track of all DOOM WADs because they keep multiplying like rats. While HERETIC and HEXEN WADs on the other hand are so much more rare that it's easier to keep track of them all. ;)But here that I am making a quick episode for Heretic and admits to not really spending time with the story. People are discussing it before I even finished it. Probably because there's a back story to consider. But still. Interesting, and a bit disheartening. To be absolutely honest, none of my own WADs ever had any background stories either, until one day I randomly decided to produce a very unique WAD with a title screen as odd as this: ^ Yes, some people thought this was retarded, but I was still proud of my clever idea... Afterall, it's not everyday that you see Korax avenging the death of his younger brother with the aid of a tribe of killer echidnas. :) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
StoneFrog Posted October 15, 2008 Remind me why one is a human (or humanoid, we never see under his hood), one a skeleton thing, and one a generic giant red horned demon? Adopted? :P 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Butts Posted October 15, 2008 thats not a skeleton thing, it looks like lightening stuff to me... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Well, according to the official printed manuals for HexenI and HexenII, the minds and bodies of the Serpent Riders have been warped by the powers of the Chaos Sphere. So basically, this Chaos Sphere is like a dangerous drug. It did the same thing to D'Sparil and Korax and Eidolon that Sauron's ring has done to Smeagol in The Lord Of The Rings. I hope this explains it well for you. ;) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Frauds I tell you! :P 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted November 24, 2008 Well, since I didn't think people was paying my ego enough of attention, by caressing it lustfully with nimble fingers in places which you don't speak of in public. I found it necessary to release this screenshot. http://www.doglike.org/temporary/curse_of_disparil_3.png Enjoy. Now let the caressing commence. COMMENCE I SAY! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Vermil Posted November 24, 2008 Looks good, if a bit too much variety in texturing maybe. But the small ammount of layout that we can see (or at least the from angle we're looking from) looks more suited to DM than SP IMO. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
esselfortium Posted November 25, 2008 Looks good, I like it! I disagree with Vermil about the texturing; I think the combination works very well, with the exception of the light bluish bars on the ceiling, on the right side of the screenshot. Those look out of place to me, but the gray/gold combination used for most of the area looks great. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted November 25, 2008 Yeah I'm still undecided on the blue ceiling tiles. EDIT: i'll probably keep it though. I like it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

188DarkRevived Posted November 26, 2008 ^ I see shadowy corners and stainglass windows. Therefore, it seems totally Heretic-fitting. Nothing out of the ordinary which I can whine about. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted February 19, 2009 First time ever I upload a vid to youtube. And it's for this project showing off the first map. Hope you enjoy and if you don't... you don't deserve to enjoy. D: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMsR5xhR6rA&fmt=18 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Khorus Posted February 20, 2009 Looks interesting, this is good proof that the stock textures are more than enough. Gameplay looks nice and challenging. :) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
kristus Posted February 20, 2009 Thanks. I'll probably dish out a batch of screenies from the other maps too soon. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
printz Posted February 20, 2009 I hope that video isn't a solution. I didn't even watch it all in fear of a spoiler. Besides, that archvile face spooks me. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
