Sunder - Map20 Appears, finally.

Is Woof compatible with this?

 

When the demos are played they are desynced and no monsters are displayed. I tried changing compatibility to "Boom" but there's no difference.

Sunder doesn't include in-game demos; the ones that play at the menu are just the stock Doom II demos, which of course desync.

I started playing your wad.

 

The first 3 maps weren't too bad (maybe map02, it was a bit grindy)

 

MAP04's final fight can bite me (400 enemies in a small as shit room? c'mon...)

 

and map05... i'm halfway through it and i hate it soooooo much

Not to sound rude, but complaining sunder is too hard is like complaining fire is hot.   I forgot how map04 went so I skipped through Decinos video and the final fight is in a huge room. Not sure what you mean small? 

 

I mean difficult combat puzzle slaughter like this isn't for everyone.  The tone of your post came of as whiney, so this is why I'm replying as I am.

i didn't say it's too hard or anything (i might when i get to map15) i just highlighted one fight, and by small i mean it's small for 400 enemies

Fair enough.  Its been a while since I played it.  I can't remember if space is tight in that fight or not.

It's really not. There're teleporters on two sides of the room to help manipulate the monster horde, and there's plenty of room to move around.

If you think map 04 is tight, you're going to absolutely hate map 06.

i finished map06, and it gave me a lot of trouble, but i don't hate it, i kinda dread it instead.

Wanted to replay MAP16 and encountered a strange bug: a switch supposed to lower the obstacle raises it even higher instead. PrBoom Version 2.5.1.5 (OSX), Sunder 2407.

 

The switch works as it should in GZDoom. Weird, since I'm sure I've beaten the map before in the same PrBoom version.

@Insane_Gazebo will you be making any more maps for Sunder?  My wife and I are hardcore fans of your maps, we are dying (repeatedly) for more!  Sunder is truly amazing, there is nothing else like it.

I spiritually advised him to take some time off (as long as he wants) as he was fairly drained after doing those maps. 

 

He's enjoying other games like RE4 Remake, ordering pizza and having a Turkish massage at the moment on my command.

Well, that doesn't sound too bad! Has he ever considered making a couple of vanilla maps to take his mind off things? It'd be fascinating to see his take on colossal architecture with vanilla limitations. (Although it might not be good for his nerves.)

I asked him about it a couple of weeks ago, he told me he is planning on releasing it sometime this year, No exact date tho.

The reason he was busy is because he was busing creating textures for the steam game "Diving Frequency"

Anyways yeah, just give him some time to get his stuff done and then he will hopefully be back to sunder mapping.

Just wanted to let you know guys know. And again you can always pm him, But he might be busy doing stuff so he can't respond to all of them manually.

Also I really hope he gets back into stream mapping, Those were the good days I miss.

Now that's some great news! Thanks. Can't wait to play the map. Yeah, let's hope for some streams in the future. I'll be there like a sponge, taking in the expertise.

This Sunder wad is how my interest for Doom kicked in again watching Zero Master runs. 
Specially Map 17, 18 and 19 looks amazing but Im clearly terrified of it. 

Gonna try to run Map 1. Hopefully I can start a lot of infighting. 
I have also changed some tracks of the maps to more creepy Midis from Blood.

Given the name I figure they're from Makkon textures, which is also mentioned in the text file ("some palette conversions/edits done by Tango").

I mean... the new map does have Santa's colour scheme. Christmas release perhaps?

Been following this thread for nearly 5 years now, looking forward to map 21 once Gazebo returns to this slaughter megawad. Stellar and brutal as always.

Tonally this is your best one so far, the mixture of the chromatic greys and red is so damn good.

As for midi's, have you planned out the rest of the WAD? Would love to see one from PSXDOOM if not, there's some really good atmospheric tracks there that would pair well with your scale/style of mapping (a good example is Abandon: Map 13)
