Tuning vanilla Doom controls

I set up my infamous oldskool box with DOS 6.2 and I am running through a refresher of the original episodes. Of course, I went for a WASD + mouse config this time (no going back to keyboard for me...) however at first I was disappointed by the turning rate: the in-game slider set it only as high as 9, which was still very slow compared to source ports....so I set it manually in default.cfg to be higher than that (currently 25) and it worked.

Now I am only missing a couple of things:

Is there a way to tweak the settings to simulate an "always run" mode?

If yes, is it possible to temporarily disable it via the shift/run key?

Also, is it possible to disable mouse movement entirely (except for turning)?

You can also use chocolate-setup that comes with chocolate doom to generate vanilla configuration files. It has an option to enable the autorun trick.

Oh yeah, that's right, even the config file chocolate-doom uses is fully compatible with vanilla. Though it does have the same side effect of being completely unable to walk, but I never use that anyway.
