Crendowing Posted January 3, 2002 GUYS!!!! GUYS!!!! IT'S JUST PLAIN COMMON SENSE THAT THE PLURAL FORM OF ANY WORD THAT ENDS IN '-US' EVEN IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE ENDS IN '-I'!!!!!!!!!! I'll quote myself:Cacti Radii FociNow, are any of those words Latin? Sorry, but I'm on an anger rush right now. 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted January 3, 2002 Wrong! Since when do you say "busi" for more than one bus? And "omnibus" is "omnibuses", not "omnibusi". According to Word, "cactuses" is perfectly valid. Focuses is too, but that would be for use in sentences like 'pervy Fredrik focuses on the naked women'. 0 Share this post Link to post
elbryan42 Posted January 3, 2002 Wrong! Since when do you say "busi" for more than one bus? Um... you're on crack aren't you? Busi? Lets look at the other words... Cactus... Cacti Nucleus... Nuclei Ok... so bus would not be busi, but bi. The i replaces the us. And as much fun as it would be to say. "Everyone in the city rode the bi." it's just not right. ;) I personally believe it's Mancubi, since most words in the english language ending with us pluralized end with an i. However, the english language has more and more exceptions to the rule. So no one knows for sure what the plural is. We can only have our own opinions... 0 Share this post Link to post
Crendowing Posted January 3, 2002 Nucleus... NucleiForgot that one... Anyway, this thread is bunk, to quote someone I met in an AOL chat (kill me now). 0 Share this post Link to post
NiGHTMARE Posted January 3, 2002 Oops, that's what I meant, bi and omnibi. 0 Share this post Link to post
InfraRed Posted January 3, 2002 Christ...is there gonna be SS or what??.....and how come we never heard ne more comments on this from the guy who posted it? 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted January 3, 2002 pervy Fredrik focuses on the naked womenMight not be the grammar, but SOMETHING is wrong about that sentence. And it's "Mancubi". Bus becomes "buses" because it has only one syllable, I think. 0 Share this post Link to post
Fredrik Posted January 3, 2002 You forgot virus, virii. You can surely say viruses too, but that sounds dumb IMHO. 0 Share this post Link to post

I'll quote myself:Cacti Radii Foci Oh no, not that silly discussion again! I don't see why we just don't let people use the plural form they prefer themselves. I don't give a %§#¤ whether it's mancubi or mancubus. 0 Share this post Link to post

AngelOfDeath Posted January 3, 2002 ok I played through the first part of doom 2. I couldnt find what i was talking about. But i remember seeing this thing once. I may have had a modified version of doom2.wad at the time , ( this was years ago ) My current version does not have what i'm talking about. I may go look through my old 3.5 disks one day if they still work and try to find my old doom2.wad. If I see it i will post a screenshot 0 Share this post Link to post

nxn Posted January 3, 2002 hmm, wierd things happened in the older dooms, When I first played through the shareware version of Doom1 one in E1M8 I swear those pinkies were going around those barrels in a perfect circle, almost as if they were dancing or someshit. I don't smoke crack, I admit I was like 7 or 8 but I was sane at the time. 0 Share this post Link to post
Katgut Posted January 4, 2002 If incubus and succubus are latin, is the number 10 bus latin too? I thought Incubus was a band which sucks. And the Latin plural of bus is usbays. (Wait... that's Pig Latin...) 0 Share this post Link to post
Liam Posted January 4, 2002 If incubus and succubus are latin, is the number 10 bus latin too? I thought Incubus was a band which sucks. A succubus is a demon temptress and an incubus is the male version. 0 Share this post Link to post
Kid Airbag Posted January 4, 2002 You forgot virus, virii. You can surely say viruses too, but that sounds dumb IMHO.Either my sarcasm detector is broken or you're on crack because I've never heard Virii before in my life. It's always been viruses. 0 Share this post Link to post
læmænt Posted January 4, 2002 But "viruses" does sound dumb. (And so does "mancubuses") Virii is correct. And if you never heard it before, then you're talking to the wrong people :) 0 Share this post Link to post
