wesleyjohnson Posted September 9, 2009 I want to submit my documentation to idgames and Doomworld. They (idgames) want this form filled out, including my email address. This would post my email address for any spambot to pickup. I have had this email address, and kept it clean from spam, for years now and this sounds like a bad move. This email is used for business too and I do not want to have to change it. Are you really using your home email address on these ? Are there mail drop address provided for this purpose by Doomworld? I will reject any answer that tells me to put up with the spam. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
fraggle Posted September 9, 2009 For /idgames you mean? The idgames archive has nothing to do with Doomworld, other than the fact that there is an interface for browsing its contents and that there are regular reviews of new submissions here. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted September 9, 2009 Honestly, I think you have nothing to worry about. But if you're worried anyway, just make a Gmail account and use that address. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted September 10, 2009 I'm using an address alias (one of four I can attach to my primary email address) for Doom-related stuff, if that starts attracting spam I'll kill it and create another. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
wesleyjohnson Posted September 10, 2009 Greyghost has the best answer. You got an alias that will forward automatically to your main email, and did you get yours somewhere that I could ?? I do not want some alias that I have to check every few days. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted September 11, 2009 Yes, an alias re-directs incoming mail to the primary address - it's part of my broadband plan. An alternative - if your ISP doesn't offer or support email aliases - is to create a Gmail account (as DRM suggested) which can be set up to filter and forward mail to your current address. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
