Enjay Posted December 28, 2009 It does seem an odd thing to "correct" doesn't it (especially when doing so was ... well, not correct). Presumably someone was getting the manual ready for (re)printing, spotted the "one level" and thought "that's not right" and changed it. Are there any other differences in the versions of the manual? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
GreyGhost Posted December 28, 2009 A quick comparison of the DOS and Windows manuals for Doom 2 - In the Windows manual - the first sentence in "Using the Doom II Menu" reads...When you run DOOM II in DOS a self-running demo will begin, while Windows 95 puts you right into a game. The "Graphic Detail (F5)" paragraph has been removed from page 3. Chaingun & plasma rifle images are tranposed on page 7 - the DOS manual has them in the wrong order. The addendum's "Multiplayer Instructions" and "Deathmatch Mode Gameplay Notes" have been incorporated into the Windows manual - minus the following paragraph...COOPERATIVE OR DEATHMATCH MODE: When playing Deathmatch you may think it is preferable to kill yourself rather than have your opponent kill you and gain a frag. Think again! DOOM II takes a frag from your total when you take the easy way out. Tip: Don't get too close to your opponent when shooting him with a missile launcher. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
