Devalaous Posted February 6, 2010 Life imprisonment for a terrorist plot. Clearly. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

myk Posted February 6, 2010 It's all fun and games until someone gets poked in the eye with a LEGO gun. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nomad Posted February 6, 2010 Shall I be the first to point out, that thing is obviously not made by LEGO? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DuckReconMajor Posted February 6, 2010 I think you'd be wrong. LEGO has made plenty of minifig accessories like that. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

This story reminds me distinctly of the difficult time I had integrating into school life in Edmonton, Canada. Not long after I had arrived there, I was suspended for "refusing" to sing the Canadian national anthem during assembly one morning, when of course I simply didn't know it. Only the Australian one. I guess that particular event contributed to the general distain I currently hold for happenings such as this one here. What school was that? We generally don't make kids do things like that here. I've lived here all my life and it took until grade 6 for me to figure out all the words to the stupid anthem. Damn the fucking patriots and their anthems anyway. The schools here have taken to expelling kids for imitating a gun with their hand. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Nomad Posted February 6, 2010 Maybe for one of their sets intended for older kids, like Technic, or something, but that is obviously not a standard LEGO accessory. It doesn't really matter, but I'm fairly sure it's not LEGO at all anyway. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Aliotroph? Posted February 6, 2010 Yeah, the scale of that gun is wrong for a Lego guy. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

To be fair, it did appear as though I was refusing to sing, standing there gazing about the room, and I probably could have stated my case a little better. I suppose the then stuck-up me kind of felt chuffed about being suspended. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Captain Toenail Posted February 6, 2010 I suppose it could be a choking hazard... heh. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Aliotroph? Posted February 7, 2010 In that case they should ban all the stupid beans we used to learn how to count. :D Hmm, they made you sing the anthem in junior high? When was that? They certainly didn't have any of that at my school. We did in elementary, but they didn't make a big deal of us non-singers. Now that I think about, the near absolute lack of anthems and such after grade six seems a bit odd. Alberta is a pretty conservative place; you'd think anthems would be more common. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Seriously, zero tolerance policies were made so people don't have to think. They were made by politicians and corporations so they can hire a bunch of peons who are too dumb to use their discretion, and said peons love it because they can be completely lazy. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
magicsofa Posted February 8, 2010 "An irate Staten Island mom blasted a grade school principal Wednesday" Lots of terrible puns at the NYDN site ("Boom! Trouble ensued...") When I saw the picture I immediately laughed. That gun is so fucking big. Also, what regular cop has an assault rifle to just putz around with? Shouldn't he be SWAT team? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
