Help with ZDoom bots

Or lack thereof. I have the latest ZDoom version, 2.4.1, and for whatever reason it doesn't come with a bots.cfg. I would love to play some DM in E1M1 but I can't get any bots to spawn. Any help would be appreciated.

ZDoom's bots have been woefully out of maintenance for years now, to the extent that they're considered beyond possible repair; even if you can get them to work, they're unlikely to work well. Skulltag's bots are somewhat better, though they still have some issues.

There are examples of bots declaration there. Copy one to a bots.cfg file you create yourself, and put it in a zcajun directory within your zdoom folder.
