i used to hate cs a lot but i dont now. to like the game you just have to have a LOT of patience and not mind that the bullets fly in completely random directions, replacing skill with luck

Heh...you got that right. Thats why I always use the shotgun...more bullets = more hurting.

At least CS doesn't suck on LANs. I kinda like it when playing against some friends but it's crap over Internet. Too many whiners, cheaters, laggeds and retards.

Yeah, LAN CS is okay. I'd play it with my friends every week if I had the $$$, but alas it would cost my entire allowance.

Internet CS blows goats. To many lamers and campers, and people with way the fuck too much time on their hands.

Yeah, cheater ... CS is full of it! In Quake 3, it's almost impossible to cheat (over internet). If I use cheats (offline), then it's for practise new jumping tricks or something. If you play with cheats, then you have no fun!

We used to LAN CS all the time, down at our local superbowl/games arena. It was cheap, we enetered teams, we were called Study Six, after our school study. We came third, once.

Damn, I just realized that Half-Life came out in 1998...5 years ago...and still, it the most played game on the internet. If Valve doesn't come out with a whole new game this year (read: TF2), I'm gonna kick someones ass!

If Valve doesn't come out with a whole new game this year (read: TF2), I'm gonna kick someones ass!

Naah. Valve is content to milk the HL engine until it runs dry. TF2 is competing with Duke Nukem 4ever to be the next great Daikatana. Just find a few new HL mods to play; Valve's last few attempts to market modded HL projects didn't go too well. (Blue Shift, HL:CS, Counter-Strike: Condition Zero, Gunman Chronicles *shudder*...)

HL may be 5 years old, but did you know the basic of the engine is from Quake2??? As long as there come new mods, the game will be played =) (like doom)

Quake 1, actually. S'true! You should've seen some of the shots from the early betas of HL. The original player-character looked like a white Mr. T with a foot-tall flattop.

VALVe's so greedy they don't wanna even license new tech. In fact, take a fucking look at CS:CZ. It's a glorified Quake 1, just like HL. For God's sake pay the friggin 8% royalties and license something worth looking at.
