The green marble and brick maps from Whispers of Satan are absolutely stunning, as well as the other hell maps which don't rely on them so much. The music is also great too.

Honestly I love those maps so much that I wish someone would make a full 32 map wad of maps in that style. When I think of Hell in Doom, I think of those green bricks and marble.

Iwads I cannot decide, but from Pwads, I've gotta say that some of the maps from The Talosian Incident are just filled with atmosphere. Also, Equinox level 1, if only because the song is one of the most enchanting songs I've ever heard in a DooM wad.
