A nice Illusion. Yet with a keen eye, it is pretty easy to tell that the seat of the chair is in fact a mattress and there are 3 wooden bars that are placed in front and one wooden bar touching the back wall in a way that they all combine to look like a chair.

I am... more or less over hating pictures of myself. 41 years old, better late than never right? Took this earlier tonight while running with my dogs on the beach just before sundown. I figured the combination of the lovely light and the cuteness of Forest would work in my favour.

And for those wondering, yes I was soon licked for my temerity.

Hey, nice photo. Why is the dog wearing glasses, though? :-)

It makes him less camera shy.

The Astros lost.

That would explain the Dazed and Confused look on your face. []

You should model your real life face after your shotgun+chaingun avatar.

"That rug really tied the room together."

"I just want to understand this, sir. Every time a rug is micturated upon in this fair city, I have to compensate the person?"

Back again at the outdoor torture devices after surviving vaccine side effects (that lasted over a week). Did 4 chin-ups, 7 dips, 20 situps on a diagonal plank, 7+5 log lifts (heaviest log), 20 leg lifts on the dip stand, 20 backlifts (kinda like inverse situps). Should exercise more often to like double these results.

Is that a custom-design shirt? Very clever.

@Zenki: Getting rid of the beard takes years off your face.

@TwinBeast: I didn't recognize you without the gas mask. Heh.

Yes, its a custom design shirt I bought off ebay from some guy that does loads of custom video game / pop culture shirts! I'm hoping they start making more Doom shirts, as that's the only Doom-related design they have right now. Ended up costing me about 40$ canadian, a little pricey, but I think its worth it for the design, as it is even printed on the back! I also had to buy a 3XL as European sizes are apparently quite different - ended up working out, though!

In the US it's just called "hockey". But I understand the need to distinguish between "ice hockey" and "field hockey".

And is it just me, or does Kleo look hungry? []

I don't really know if I could classify that as a simpler time than the one I'm in now. I mean, I'm out on disability retirement. The only thing complicating things is my physical situation, and perhaps a touch of my mental situation. The latter certainly complicated things back then, but I wasn't fully aware of it until many years later. Long story, but it goes to prove something that I believe: creativity is a form of mental illness. ;)

They often say that creativity is often shaped by expressionism or trauma, yes.

That's not to say everyone who creates had tragic experiences in their life, but in order to create something, you have to put your mind elsewhere, in a sense.

I'm sure I don't need to tell you any of this, but I'm someone who does creating in his own ways, and I can genuinely say one of the reasons I love to do stuff like writing is because I get to be someone else for awhile.

Honestly, I'd probably love to be an actor, but my memory sucks. A voice actor would also be amazing for me, when I worked some call center jobs in the past, people kept telling me I got a nice, radio-type voice.

You and I have something in common, then! I got the same comment when I worked the tech support line for Apogee. I eventually did wind up on the radio after leaving Apogee/3D Realms, doing overnight traffic reports for KRLD-AM 1080 in Dallas, TX, and occasional news for other markets via Internet links.

Unlike you, I've never had people pay me for me to talk, unfortunately, unless it was in said call center jobs. :P

I'd say it's the other way around, mental illness is a form of creativity. You don't have to be mentally ill to be creative, yet being mentally ill can wind up to some wild manifestations of creativity.
