Maes Posted June 4, 2011 hex11 said:Anyway, with Windows 3.11 he could run this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Castle_of_the_Winds :) There were a handful of decent Windows 3.1 games, but most pre-WinG stuff was just puzzle games and (very) low action games. There was an actually cool Asteroids clone (name?) and ofc Quatra Command, but for the rest Windows 3.1 "gaming" was on the same level as 8-bit arcade mahjoong games. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
E.J. Posted June 5, 2011 Is 'cdoom' generally considered better than DOS limit removing ports like 'smmu'? I'm actually considering trying this one out now in an actual DOS machine (no emulation), because of this thread. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The only thing I can think of that it would do and EE didn't would be the text mode rendering, and that was something of a gimmick to begin with. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Csonicgo Posted June 7, 2011 I am just amazed there was no really solid DOS Doom port. Every one of them seemed to have a weird deficiency to me (Most likely in the control department). 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
