Smooth as silk. Grinding for a 54-53 seems pure madness. I have no doubt you can get it if you decide to put in the hours given the relative low attempt count to get this. Below the 1 minute mark used to be a magic goal here, imagined but not achieved, and now we have Kinetics and Loopers knocking them well below.

Very clever route improvements here, and an excellent run on top. Amazing timestamp. I did not imagine the 49 to fall this quickly, comes to show there's always a faster way with maxkills. Part of what makes them so interesting :)

MAP27 stroller in 22.94

The second barrier broken in map 27, from 23 to 22. Can't believe I actually got this record and got it so fast (only about 1470 attempts).

 

I'll quote myself from the text file:

"I succeeded because I realized a small optimization to the route was possible. I lower the platform and take to the left side of the skull switch. By the time the platform has lowered enough for the player to move, I'm already closer to the exit. Not by much, but every fraction of a second counts. By taking my route I lack the safety the supercharge brings, but I realized that if the arch-vile attacks twice it's already game over for the run, and with full health it's possible to withstand its attack once anyway."

Thanks! I hope there'll be, although it's cutting into my mapping time. Heh. But on the positive side, youtube's getting so bad with the ads so I don't feel like watching anything, so that frees a lot of time for the long winter evenings...

Nice, Gosu_Noob! It's funny how the winning run always has the mistakes one manages to avoid in almost all other attempts. I theoretized (not sure if I wrote about it, or just in my mind) that a run without a vile attack might be possible. I didn't get one, but during my attempts I managed, in the very beginning, to push the vile almost to the door (and I think it happened only once for me); it didn't reach it to open it, but I thought that with a bit more luck it could have reached it. Too bad you missed the 21, it was close...

That's a great stroller Decay, and the first non-TAS for the map. I had this under work too but I didn't get it. I had similar strategies but I feel your understanding of the monsters is better. I won't be going for this any longer, quite likely. Glad to see it could be done like I assumed.
