Andy Olivera Posted January 5, 2010 Xit: Ahh, so both :41s are yours. Fixed. Thanks! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
xit-vono Posted January 5, 2010 no, on of them is Adam's compet-n demo in 41.68 or so. My demo is the 41.28 that uses a different route where I take the rocket launcher before doing the blue room. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted January 6, 2010 Okay, so the one now listed as C-N is Adam's, and the other one(not shown as C-N) is yours? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
vdgg Posted January 9, 2010 Right now I'm involved in making a list of C-N entries from mid 2005 (original C-N site down) until now. As I'm digging around in old demos, I noticed some issues to solve at DSDA, I have a question as well, so instead of a PM, I'll point everything (as for now) here. -------------------------- 1) Demos which are C-N entries and not marked C-N Doom E3M6 NM100 0:18 by Kimo Plutonia MAP25 UV Speed 0:33 by Kimo 2) Mess with Doom Nightmare demos... There are "two demos" in the tables for the same map, identical time: E4M2 NM100 0:21 by Guiddqd E4M2s NM Speed 0:21 by Guiddqd In fact, it's the same demo, only with two different textfiles. It can be either 0:21 NM Speed, secret exit record or 0:21 NM100 record. 3) According to the old table, I have c3m9-138, Doom E3M9 Coop Max. There is a question mark regarding the authors and no text file included. At DSDA it's "Ocelot and Adam Hegyi". Is it certain? 4) There are some excellent demos by Guiddqd not listed at DSDA: I'll just list them all (OK, not all, just everything from the C-N sticky topic) with my comments to some of them. Warning: the textfiles can be misleading... Sorry for leaving them unsorted. http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/C-N/ns04-050.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=759898#post759898 Doom2, MAP04, NM Speed or NM100 Doom2 1.666 0:50 http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/av09-nm-113-Gd.zip http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/av09-nm-103-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=742212#post742212 Two AV MAP09 NM records, engine: PrBoom 2.4.7 http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/C-N/an01-030.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=757156#post757156 Alien Vendetta, MAP01, NM Speed 0:30 C-N http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/lv24-nm-107-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=756433#post756433 Yes, with -complevel 3 it works http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/av03-uv-027-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=751014#post751014 Alien Vendetta, MAP03, UV Speed 0:27 C-N http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/e3m1-nm-031-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=746735#post746735 http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/ep1-nm-800-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=745101#post745101 Not a record, but still... http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/e1m5-nms-138-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=743257#post743257 http://lsvc.free.fr/CFD/Demos/Doom/e4m1-nm-035-Gd.zip http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/e4m2-nm-018-Gd.zip http://users.skynet.be/fc175981/e4m2-nms-021-Gd.zip http://www.doomworld.com/vb/showthread.php?s=&postid=743163#post743163 The last demo is the cause of all the confusion: it should be listed in the same category as his other 0:21 C-N demo. Andy Olivera Posted January 11, 2010 86 demos this week, all new. vdgg: All should be fixed or added. Thanks! Regarding #3, you can tell by the naming of the lmps: A for Adam's perspective, O for Ocelot's. Thankfully, Adam was consistent when naming co-op demos.:-) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted January 19, 2010 99 demos this week, all new. And per sector666's suggestion, old updates can now be viewed. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Eugene Posted January 20, 2010 May be I'm just blind. But, is it possible to download an update demos as a single archive? Just like it was possible for Doug site's updates. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath Posted January 20, 2010 Thanks for adding my FDA demos, I hope it didn't take too long? I figured I'd post FDA demos of my journey through /idgames, but don't worry about adding them to the DSDA if it's too much work (the demos are really slow anyway). Just a note that barbamaps.wad was made by Barbapapa (he's from Sweden) and the tom19 map10 max demo was made by me instead of gggmork (the demo filename is correct, though). Awesome work! :) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
sector666 Posted January 21, 2010 Andy Olivera said:And per sector666's suggestion, old updates can now be viewed. Cool now I can figure out what demos I missed from hr without having to compare a list of 900+ demos :) I also noticed something strange. "imparena" has a total time listed of 0:00:00 even though it has a demo. I downloaded the demo to check on that, and the readme says it's just under six minutes. Somehow seeing the difference between a one demo wad like that and a 123-hours-of-demos wad like hr gave me the idea that it could be cool to be able to sort wad by total time played. I'd personally be curious what the top 10-20 most played wads are (obviously hr would be #1). But if you could choose to sort ascending/descending by total time that would also make it really easy to see if there's a missing time like imparena has, at least for single demo wads (which there are a lot of I've noticed). Anyway I would guess that wouldn't take very much work to set up, if you think it's worth doing. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
vdgg Posted January 21, 2010 sector666 said:I'd personally be curious what the top 10-20 most played wads are It was less than 15 minutes of work, including uploading: http://www.speedyshare.com/files/20469717/DSDASTAT.xls By # of demos 1.hr 916 2.requiem 510 3.mm 488 4.scythe 465 5.mm2 449 By length of demos 1.hr 123:41:38 2.mm2 55:55:54 3.tnt 51:28:12 4.mm 49:03:23 5.requiem 40:33:23 Not surprisingly, eternal has 20th place by number of demos, 7th place by length of demos. Of course it won't be updated, but the sequence of the top 5/10/20 won't be changing too often EDIT: Heh, and the fact mm2 has 2nd place sorted by length of demos - it's my job :-P 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Revved Posted January 21, 2010 Also, can you include the first version of the Vilecore wad in the next update? I try looking at the demos but all of them desync. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
sector666 Posted January 22, 2010 @vdgg: That only took 15 minutes? Well it is interesting, just like I thought it would be. :) Sorting the opposite way, I saw survival.wad has both demos listed as zero time. That's the only other wad with zero time other than imparena, so maybe that's all of them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted January 25, 2010 116 demos this week, all new. Eugene: You're not blind. It's not currently possible to download an update as a single file. I may be able to implement this, but I don't have an ETA. ToD: WAD/demo author errors fixed. Thanks! sector666: Adding a Top 20 page won't be difficult. Again, though, no ETA. As for the zero length for imparena and survivor, those are intentional. None of the text files list an exact length, though if somebody can get them for me I'll be happy to add them. Both are points-based mods, so I didn't think the times would be all that important, anyway. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted February 1, 2010 33 demos this week, all new. Forgot to ask last week, but does anyone have the earlier version of Vilecore that Revved mentioned? If so, please send me a copy so I can post it. Thanks! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

The Green Herring Posted February 1, 2010 Error: My new 2:29 UV speed demo is for 1fifwar2, not 1fifwar3. Don't feel bad, though; it's Fiffy's own fault for using an inconsistent naming scheme (1fifwar2 has WAR3.WAD, 1fifwar3 has WAR4.WAD, etc.) ;) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

xepop Posted February 14, 2010 Plutonia2 map05 pacifist, dews 008 links to termrorks 009. Alien vendetta map03 uvspeed, now guiddqd says he forgot to change ultimate doom->doom2 in txt, should it be changed not to raise any controversy? edit: I see his not sure about that, and not about av01 too. Someone who knows better correct me 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted February 15, 2010 36 demos this week, all new. xepop: dew's demo is now where it should be. Thanks! Guiddqd's demo is now listed as recorded with DooM2. As for the text file, I doubt it will cause any problems. There are text file errors like that throughout the archive. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Phml Posted February 15, 2010 Hey Andy, Could you please add my Phmlspd Map11 legit UV Speed and NM Speed ? Links to the posts : 1 2. Also, I tend to post a lot of demos for Phmlspd until I manage a time I'm happy with, it might not be worth including them all as it looks kind of spammy and inflates the real played time/number of demos on the wad, and most importantly it's doubtful anyone would bother to check out a 19 minute demo when there's a 9 minute demo available, for example. Getting rid of all my demos but the best time for each map in each category (TAS and legit) might make more sense, though if that's trouble or annoying for you it's not that much of a problem. Thanks. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted February 23, 2010 58 demos this week, all new. phml: Demos added. I'll slim down a few of the levels in the future. Thanks! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

vdgg Posted March 1, 2010 Red XIII's pn32-100 is listed as "NM Speed". There is nothing wrong with it, but I'd place it in the same category as his 1:01 & 1:02 demos. The same thing applies to the new Tatsurd demos (0:59 & 0:57), not listed yet. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted March 8, 2010 51 demos this week, all new. No update last Sunday due to my moving and not having internet access for almost a week. Revved: All fixed. Thanks! vdgg: Fixed. Thanks! Somehow I missed Tatsurd's 0:59, so that'll show up next week. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Revved Posted March 8, 2010 Here's something totally wrong, the mm24s125 lmp is for the original Memento Mori, not Memento Mori 2. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted March 15, 2010 A mere 18 demos this week, all new. Once again I had very little time for updating, so there's around forty new demos from the past week that still haven't been entered. Revved: Fixed. Thanks! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
The Green Herring Posted March 15, 2010 Whenever you get the time, a few corrections to make:vdgg's demos for cchest2 MAP24 need to have the following note added: "Plays back with cc2_m24f.wad." This WAD, packed with your cchest2 distribution, fixes the inability to beat the level in Boom, among others, and is required for the demos to play back correctly.death1 is 100% identical to death. It would be best to move my demos over to the death, alongside Maikl's demo, remove the existing death1 page, and rename the death page to death1, since idgames/ .zip filenames seem to be prioritized above all others. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Andy Olivera Posted March 15, 2010 TGH: Both fixed. Thanks! BTW, what's the deal with dethe1m1? I've downloaded it from both youfailit and gamers, but I can't open either of them. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I can open the .zip just fine using WinRAR. For what it's worth, I just repackaged its contents into a new .zip file and e-mailed it to you. Please check it as soon as you can and tell me if you can open it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
myk Posted March 15, 2010 For my pendragon FDA the DSDA page says "Includes demos for MAPs 01 & 02 that don't finish". To make it (it's just Map01) finish one needs to disable intercepts overflow emulation. I'd suggest a note saying "Without overflow emulation (see text file)". It was recorded with a hacked Doom2+, and people need PrBoom+ to watch it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
