The DooMed Speed Demos Archive returns!

Recommended Posts

There is something wrong with laitos demos. I try -iwad doom -file laitos and the demos are nonsensical early deyncs. Wrong wad?

There were a bunch of versions of this wad. I know of three for which there are demos (see the patterns in prb+ cfg). One is the one in the archive (and at DSDA), but the two others may not be readily available any more.

Here is one of them (rename as laitosnw.wad if you want to use the autoloading patterns).

Regarding Zero-Master 30pl, well he did record it with Competition Doom, but unfortunately he did not record it properly (missing player ID, category, pwad) so I can't add it to CNDOOM database :/

fx02, can you give me a player ID? also what do you mean with category, pwad? In competition doom launcher I see category / game mode so I figured checking Speed and Movie was sufficient? Or should it be added to optional arguments?

I would think I will get sub 25 minutes some day, so I don't care too much about getting 30pl2523 on the CNDOOM database, but it would be nice if I get another demo I want to submit that it can also be submitted to that database.

Your player ID is 244, please send me more info about yourself via PM (your full name, country, date of birth) and if you want to reveal it or keep it private.
Well, clicking on speed / movie should be fine. You can always try to record a test demo and then check if everything is fine here:
http://www.doom.com.hr/cndoom/testdemo.php
but you SHOULD read this for rules (at least Competition section):
http://doom.com.hr/index.php?page=compet-n_rules

ps. maybe you used menu to quit game and you should use QUIT key after demo recording is finished, well just read rules

ps2. sorry my mistake, demo is just missing your player ID, seems upload script is broken after latest database changes, going to fix it asap

For Flashback to Hell map 32 UV Speed my old demo got uploaded, in 31 seconds. I posted a bit later of a run in 27 seconds. Can you add to DSDA? Thanks.

swtw.wad - 4shockblast's 1:34 UV Speed is for MAP31, not MAP01
1994tu.wad - j4rio's MAP09 FDA desyncs on the final /idgames version. Perhaps someone who still has the first release can contribute the MAP09 entry to the 1994tu_old.wad on DSDA.

nomonsters

EDIT: Oops, I didn't check what I'm including.

sp02-019.31 wasn't allowed into the competition, because the judges didn't like the glide. :)
sp10x023.71 is a training run of mine where I segment the glide, I could never perform this good fo reals.
sp30-030.86 is a run by hokis exclusively for the glued movie, nomo on 30 wasn't in the competition and regular uv kept desyncing when appended.
lv02glid is my training run for lv02 (and potentially pa02?!), it was so frustrating that I scrapped my attempts, heh.

115 demos this week.

Clumsy & 4shock: Fixed. Thanks!

Springy: I didn't miss it. I DL'd it, then later deleted it when I found it had no text file, no time and no author info.

plums: Since max demos almost always require the use of secret exits anyway, I refrain from categorizing them as 'secret' so they stay at the top of the maps listings. If there were demos for both exits it would be a different story, but I can't think of any examples where that's happened.

I still haven't seen my demos for Doom 2 and Hadephobia yet on DSDA, and it's been over a month now. Not trying to bump threads here. I wonder why my Doom 2 and Hadephobia speed demos aren't on DSDA yet?

Perhaps this applies:

Note that the rules for this forum do in fact ask that text-files be included. It's at the very least inconvenient for a demo zip file not to include the basic information about the demo, and I can fully understand Andy preferring not to archive them in that case.
