Nine Inch Heels Posted April 23, 2017 Not sure if it's been asked yet, but does anybody have an idea what that "song" in deus vult2's m 23 is called? Or who made it? 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
baja blast rd. Posted April 23, 2017 The DoomWiki entry says "Crocodile Cacophony (K. Rool's Theme)" from Donkey Kong Country 2 by David Wise, sequenced by Andreas and Savas Oulassoglou. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION (BASED ON HACKER ETHIC) IN THE CONTEXT OF DOOM I believe that access to anything (i.e. tools and information) that furthers the intellectual development of the individual should be completely unrestricted. Furthermore, I believe that unlimited access to such things can free the individual's intellectual abilities from many socio-economic constraints; a talented programmer in India can explore his/her potential just as well as any programmer in the Western world, provided the resources that Freedom of Information brings. Freedom of information in the context of Doom Modification, it is a virtue to be generous with your work and their resources. If you created something like a texture or map, allow it to be used in future projects. Try not to go around and limit others from using what you've made, after your work is done, leave it be, move on, don't clutch onto your work and render it dead with copyrights and self-important permission to do this and that, don't make it hard on others because of ego; let it grow by giving it away so others can develop it... after all, John Carmack was generous enough to give away Doom's source code, from which we are able to evolve Doom as a nonprofit community through many sourceports and projects that kept Doom fresh through the test of time and made it all the more beautiful in the end. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Bashe Posted May 14, 2017 Finally have some songs to share with the thread. I culled all these midis from Doom 2 X-Treme and its sequel Doom 2 X-Treme Gold, however some of these I have heard in at least one other place. There's no metadata with these so that's a no go, unfortunately. Almost all of the other music from these two wads I was able to identify, even very recently, but these last few's sources are eluding me. Zip file here 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Memfis Posted May 14, 2017 Map25 music also appears in slayer.wad in the intermission, no idea where it really comes from though. Gold Map20 is Floghorn from Duke 3D Atomic Edition. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Varis Alpha Posted May 14, 2017 does anyone know what song this is a MIDI of? i think it's a really nice song, but i don't have a clue where it could've come from. actually, there's a bunch of songs from the megawad i find interesting, but don't know where they come from. i'll link a few more videos here, but i'm mostly interested in the first one i showed. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

galileo31dos01 Posted May 15, 2017 WAT? A megawad with names from train stations from my city Buenos Aires? HELL THAT'S MY SHIT 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
The_MártonJános Posted June 14, 2017 (edited) I'm particularly interested in the JokeWAD called It Only Gets Worse. What I know: - MAP03 and MAP11 use modified OST, MAP14 uses an intact one, and MAP04's track is one of the reject compositions for the original game. - MAPs 07, 08, 10/16 and 17 have Grant Kirkhope's compositions for the Rare games Banjo-Kazooie and Banjo-Tooie. (This doesn't include the "boss battle" theme, which is played on MAPs 08, 10 and 12 when an overpowered and partially invisible Baron of Hell/Hellknight is fought.) - Everything else that is not included above would be a pleasure to me if you could tell. ^^ Edited June 14, 2017 by Cell 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tristan Posted June 14, 2017 MAP18 is "In the Grip of Madness" from PSX Doom (Hell Keep, The Factory, The Mansion), compressed to buggery. Also MAP07 of that WAD was actually one of the first videos I saw when discovering Doom existed for PC and people made mods for it, this must have been back around 2008 and I haven't seen it since then until now..thanks I think? xD 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Tristan Posted April 1, 2018 (edited) D_BETWEE is supposed to be Even Flow by Pearl Jam. heh, I've heard legendary tales of evenflow.mid, but this was my first time hearing it. Don't know what D_STALKS is, sorry. Edited April 1, 2018 by Eris Falling 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted April 24, 2018 I did some sleuthing in an attempt to identify one of the midis I brought up in a previous post, as I heard the midi again in another wad, and apparently it's supposed to be a song from Donkey Kong Country 3, but I couldn't tell you which one, because the midi doesn't resemble any song from the game. I found the midi listed as "dkc3undr" on a page, which gave it away as a Donkey Kong Country 3 midi, though sometimes it was also listed as "Alien" or "Aliens", which it certainly isn't from. The midi itself used to be on VGMusic once upon a time, but is no longer there, only accessible nowadays through the use of archive.org. So yeah, I guess it's a DKC3 midi but not a very good one. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tetzlaff Posted April 29, 2018 Other way round - I accidently discovered this song on Soundcloud and it really resembles a well known Doom song: 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bashe Posted May 1, 2018 The Scythe intermission music is the Warp Zone theme from Goonies II for NES. I randomly came across the midi while trying to source other ones, so that worked out great. Consider the mystery solved! 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
