Anybody know what MAP02 of Slugfest by Shamus Young is from? In the textfile, he says it's the only track he didn't compose but the file itself had no information. If it's an original piece, I'd like to feature it on my MIDI Museum channel with proper credits.

The tune is called Equinoxe (Part 4) from the album Equinoxe (1978) by Jean Michel Jarre. The MIDI file was sequenced by Brian Havis in ca. 1993-1994.

Something that has bugged me for the past few years, is the nature of the "d_doom2" replacement, in the community megawad, DOOM 2 Redux.
The readme file credits two midi authors, but only "for their contributions", rather than specific song credits.
Given how some songs in the wad are NOT originals, such as the "A New Level" by Pantera midi on Map01 (which I can literally find on freemidi.org), I am genuinely unsure if this song is an original by one of the authors (corlong50 and mikeyarpeggio), or if it's something that was lifted.

Any help in concluding this mystery is greatly appreciated.

If I recall correctly, something similar happened for one of the DWANGO music tracks, with somebody claiming copyright for a track they didn't make.

But yeah, it's a shame how surprisingly easy it is to file false claims.

Just looking at each "Beat of the Terror" version should yield good results in the end, I think, as both of these are not perfect matches.

i looked on the text file and this song plays on other maps (i think it first shows up in map 31)  but i can't seem to find the midi name anywhere.

Does anyone have idea where this midi comes from? This wad uses a lot of music from other game series. It also sounds kind of JRPG-ish to me, possibly from one of the YS games. I'm not familiar with that particular series outside of hearing a couple of songs from it so I couldn't tell
