General Rainbow Bacon Posted October 22, 2011 Here's me playing Lady Laiton's Almain by John Dowland. I buzz out once, but it was a successful recording IMO. http://www.mediafire.com/file/pz8zysc3p4p4iil/Lady%20Laiton%27s%20Almain%201.mp3 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
PRIMEVAL Posted October 22, 2011 http://www.youtube.com/user/TheWeekle Most of the music videos on there are my own creations. Also check out the music related links in my siggy. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Remilia Scarlet Posted October 22, 2011 DoomHero85: Nice playing! Do you only do guitar? Primeval: I like your stuff. It sounds like it would fit very well in Doom levels, and it almost makes me want to map again. As for me... I don't play live (yet), but I do record parts and turn them into songs. Like the one in the video below me. That's not to say I don't play music, whether my own or otherwise, I just have no recordings yet and I haven't done a live show. It is a high-priority goal of mine, though. Jimmy Posted October 22, 2011 All latest music gets uploaded here: http://www.youtube.com/user/JamesPaddockMusic Nothing live yet, but I have recorded myself soloing a bunch of crazy neoclassical (harmonic minor) scales. I'll get that uploaded to SoundCloud in a bit. EDIT: Done: http://soundcloud.com/james-paddock/random-solo 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted October 23, 2011 Thanks Yukib1t. Yeah, I only do guitar stuff. I studied it in school so I figured I'd stick to what I'm good at. Glad you enjoyed it. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ed Posted October 23, 2011 http://www.mediafire.com/?658i05s8m7v6560 I just made this today, first song I've made in a while. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Creaphis Posted October 27, 2011 I don't really want to start a new thread for this: Is there any good, preferably free, software for making sheet music? You know, putting notes on staves and etc. My dad wants a program like this but doesn't want to have to run Musictime Deluxe in a DOS emulator. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted October 28, 2011 I use Finale. But as that link Grain of Salt put in says, it's expensive, but worth it. Check the above link and see if that program does what your dad wants. If it doesn't, I recommend Finale wholeheartedly. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ed Posted October 29, 2011 yukib1t - Love it, reminds me of my favorite era of electronic music (mid-late 90s) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Tango Posted October 29, 2011 really digging all this music. especially yours, yukibit. reminds me ever so slightly of descent. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Remilia Scarlet Posted October 29, 2011 I didn't expect a response like this... so here, have another: http://soundcloud.com/partition36/wired-jungle 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Ed Posted October 30, 2011 Another one I'm working on, Youtube sure has a thing for rolling off high end in the compression process. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

In a way it reminds me of what I was hearing in this club called Tracks down in Denver last year. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

In the past couple years, my music has basically been solely for Doom levels. Under a different name, I have released a couple free albums in a sorta neo-classical/metal style. I gotta dig that stuff up and release them...again...hehe. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

deldelda Posted October 31, 2011 I play lead guitar; here's a link to my YouTube page, mostly Dream Theater/BTBAM covers and a few others. Nothing too new since school has been busy as hell but I plan on uploading more soon. http://www.youtube.com/deldelda I write music also, much like newer BTBAM, the band is called Eternal Doom (yes it is named after the WAD). No bassist/drummer yet =/ Check it out at http://www.facebook.com/pages/Eternal-Doom/180162945394711 All tracks on the page are MIDI files I exported after writing the songs in a program called Guitar Pro, which everyone here should at least look into. I am in the process of recording the guitar tracks with my roommate, who plays rhythm. And eternal slumber, \m/. Is that an original? Totally wish I could play drums. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
TimeOfDeath666 Posted October 31, 2011 I can't check out stuff now, but I will eventually. Thx deldelda, yeah it's original. Yeah, drums are hella fun. I use GuitarPro too, also PowerTab. Those programs are perfect for writing and practising. P.S. for Creaphis: http://google.com 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
yellowmadness54 Posted December 11, 2011 Not sure if this is a bump or not, but here is my first time covering a very hard song. <object width="400" height="300" ><param name="allowfullscreen" value="true" /><param name="movie" value="http://www.facebook.com/v/308773152486275" /><embed src="http://www.facebook.com/v/308773152486275" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="300"></embed></object> Edit: Crap, nevermind then... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Tristan Posted November 18, 2012 If I was any good on drums, I could do my own versions of the Doom Soundtrack and do videos of those. Ah well. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Nomad Posted November 20, 2012 TimeOfDeath said:Cannibal Corpse cover: Bad mixing and bad vocals, but pretty cool you can do all that yourself. Especially jelly you can drum that fast, I used to play but just never got the drive to get good enough to play like that. Of course now my tastes are more and more complex now so that's worse for me. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Bucket Posted November 20, 2012 Who needs all that bloat? Have a MIDI file. http://www.speedyshare.com/Hn5bV/empty.MID 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoomUK Posted November 20, 2012 Nomad said:Especially jelly you can drum that fast, I used to play but just never got the drive to get good enough to play like that. Shit, I can't even play the guitar well enough - supposedly the "easier" instrument to learn - to play a Cannibal Corpse song in it's entirety, or anything similarly complex. There's things I really ought to be able to play, considering the years of practice I've had, but there's certain things my hands and fingers just don't want to do. Tutors are expensive. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
General Rainbow Bacon Posted November 20, 2012 DoomUK: It's an easier instrument to pick up quickly, but if you really want to get good, it's just as hard as the rest. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
