Has anyone drawn Doom1guy sprite without mask?

What I think has never happened and I find surprising is someone making a sprite of Doomguy without his boring helmet. With the helmet on, he loses in personality, because there may be anyone under that mask, not just our hero.

I wonder why they still used the original Doomguy sprite with his helmet on in Doom 2 when the box art shows him without it, not to mention a slightly different looking uniform.

Because they were too lazy to draw a different set of sprites. Also the subject of how much approximation and artistic license goes into box cover art, has been done to death.

That's wonderful. Even if Doomguy doesn't have blue eyes, it can be fixed.

Well he couldn't be a strogg as the strogg didn't exist until some time later in the future, probably around the time mars has already been colonzied and humans have already achieved the hyperspace ability with their ships ala Quake 4.
