C30N9 Posted March 11, 2012 If you like Doom and have it, you can check DTWID. Also, these are some episode replacements by Foodles: Knee Deep in the UnDead F_Episode 2 They're 18 levels in total. Have fun in your trip. Respond if you're still here. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Darkman 4 Posted March 11, 2012 If you're looking for the most simple level designs out there in a megawad, Congestion 64 is right up your alley. There's some surprisingly clever things in it and the levels manage to keep the theme of each level the megawad replaces, even though each level is 64x64. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
cannonball Posted March 11, 2012 2002 a doom odyssey, i admit some levels might not be your cup of tea (E4M6 based on what you think) As others said, scythe, TVR, Demonfear are very good choices for fun, simple megawads. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I played 2002 and Scythe. What I liked about 2002 is that it (almost) perfectly replicated the difficulty curve that was present in the original Doom levels: E1- joy-ride for the pussies E2- meh, still not that hard E3- quite a bit challenging, actually E4- ABOMINATION, RUUUUUN... This is from my experience with Doom on UV. As for Scythe, I can't really call it simplistic. Not after MAP20, anyway. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Capellan Posted March 11, 2012 printz said:DMONFEAR seems a good example of wad with simplistic levels. Demonfear was made when I was playing keyboard only, and HMP difficulty is designed with that style of play in mind. It's also intended to be something that can easily be played in short "bites", since you can fire it up, finish a level in 5-10 minutes, and then save and quit to do something else before coming back later for the next level. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
