just listened to him a bit... so it's not quite the first time he plays doom. i was able to get the original doom to work sounds like he set up dosbox for doom2.exe to me. anyway the graphics looks pixelated, especially on today's bigger screens, and when you're used with modern graphics in full-hd or higher it might be a bit hard to notice details.

Pretty interesting seeing a newcomer or someone without much experience going through the classic Doom 2 levels mostly blind. I'd rather see him go through the original Doom, though, even if just the first episode!

I agree with everyone saying it's cool to watch a new player reliving his childhood. He seems genuinely nervous when he comes across a new monster. These videos made me replay doom2 all the way through, and holy shit that wad is awesome. I didn't play episode 2 & 3 for so many years, so I didn't really know what to do. Gameplay is pretty hardcore too, I can only imagine what it was like to play doom2 when it came out.

Despite noticeable inexperience, I can see he's doing pretty well with Doom, using the mouse already and moving pretty fast in combat. [haven't watched part 6 yet]. Though yeah, he's still playing on HNTR, so I'm not judging accurately.

Someone should make him watch a gameplay video of one of HR1's tougher maps, like MAP13, MAP22 or MAP24, and record his first reaction to everything. It would be gold.

Aaarrgh! ;) Two pages and nobody has corrected that its "Starsky & Hutch". That was the 70's cop show. (and yes, I did use to watch it, and yes, I was a kid, and yes...I'm old...;) ).
