Summer Deep Posted October 2, 2018 ^ Yes, the title that you've struck out definitely wasn't the one - the name is completely unfamiliar to me. Actually, I recall that some Cacos also arrived on the scene in the later stages of the fight, to assist the Cyberdemon. These were in fact a big danger, as they distracted the player's attention from the main task. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Aquila Chrysaetos Posted October 2, 2018 Brutal Doom Hell on Earth campaign? I think the map you're describing is MAP20. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

That's exactly the one I was thinking of but forgot. Now we need to know if it is the one Summer Deep is searching for. PS The fact that both bosses (HotE Starter Pack and TUT&T ones) use Duke Nukem 3D sounds confused me, and I mixed them up. Edited October 2, 2018 by Mere_Duke 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

I've checked it out, and you're right. It's weird how the memory can play tricks on people. I'd never have associated my recollection of that level with the Hell On Earth wad, plus I seem to have combined maps 19 and 20 in my description. There are probably details from other wads which have crept in there too. The massive number of invading Cacos, pinkies and others after the Cyberdemon fight is hardly a 'pitiful gaggle' either..... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
Wahrnehmungskrieg Posted October 8, 2018 (edited) I've been trying to find this certain gimmick WAD for a while. Basically it revolved around you having your weapons pointed towards you - so when you fired them, you took damage and were knocked backwards by a significant amount. I remember the aim of each level was related to killing yourself, but i think you had to do it in a certain area to win? (that may be wrong, though i do remember there being prerequisites to the final 'suicide'). most of the levels revolved around dodging enemies and using the knockback from your weapons to cross gaps. there are three other things i remember: 1. the M_DOOM was very obviously a 2 second MS paint job 2. I think it used a separate DeHackEd patch to work 3. It was called something like 'Room' something? Nothing related seemed to come up when i searched 'room' in idgames however, so I could be wrong I think it was kind of a "known" wad at the time I played it (mid 2015), so maybe someone else will remember it Edited October 8, 2018 by Wahrnehmungskrieg 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Walter confetti Posted October 11, 2018 Don't know if I can ask about this here, but anyone knows any good map focused on exploration? I knew already 1st map of "flay the obscene" series and a pair of 1994 maps with this theme... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

You could've asked if anyone knew about 2 maps from 1994 with the same theme as the 1st map in the "Flay the Obscene" series. But just asking about any maps with a particular theme would probably be better put in the Wads & Mods thread as a general question. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

But ok, next time I have such a question like this one, i'll put a new thread instead of asking there if I not looking for something more specific... 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

But I'm not sure if you want to find something more doom-ish, or less. 2 Quote Share this post Link to post
Dexiaz Posted October 15, 2018 I remember a trash wad where is planet Earth going to explode and you must escape from the planet through army of monsters with "Rules of Nature" soundtrack. I also remember that Aquarius199 did a video with this wad, but I can't find it because Aquarius199 uploads tones of shit and some wads are showed in videos like "4 WADS in 1 video", heh. Thanks in advance 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

It's kinda a Terry-styled wad (but you can win the game, though) 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Skuzi Posted October 25, 2018 Hello, I am looking for a specific map. It's a slaughter map consisting of a very large / long corridor in an open area caged in. You basically press a button and a huge wall slides down revealing about 200 zombiemen , then the next wall 200 shotgun zombies and a shotgun, then about 400 chaingun zombies with a chaingun etc. all the way to cyberdemons with a final room with revnants and archviles before a few more cybies then finish. I absolutely love the map and i've lost the wad containing it. I can't remember if it's part of a larger wad pack. It could be stand alone. I can't remember. I sort of remember it being level08, but maybe not. Any help would be greatly recieved. I am a fan of slaughterfest maps, just killing 3000 monsters in co-op is something I really like. I know not everyone agrees but nvm. This is a repost in hope of help. The map isn't in coopbuild / h2 / SF / ludicrm. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

Your description sounds vaguely similar to a map by @TimeOfDeath666. Even if it's not one of his, he's played most of the maps on idgames, so he might recognize it. 1 Quote Share this post Link to post

RonLivingston Posted October 26, 2018 (edited) What pwads I do remember, mostly a lot of custom doom maps that I found on a website back in 2004 but I never got to play them, super silly war is the wad i remember too as well as zbluds version 3.2 before 3.3 came out in 2006, but I also remember a midi file that was almost the same as that hideout helmet soundtrack from donkey kong 64. there was also a map that took place in knee deep in the dead called downtown (not talking about downtown from doom 2 just saying), I wanted to also remember how to download those climax midi soundtracks too Edited October 26, 2018 by RonLivingston 0 Quote Share this post Link to post
DoomDroider Posted November 2, 2018 I am currently running the awesome Delta Touch app on my galaxy phone and would love to be able to play Duke Nukem since I hear there have been WADS available. Does anyone know of a good Duke Nukem 3D or any other recommend WADS for duke that would be playable via Delta Touch? Here are the WADS I have attempted and cannot seem to get to run on the app: DUKE.WAD duke3dtc.wad Dukenukem3d.wad Any help would be greatly appreciated! 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

SP_FACE1 Posted November 14, 2018 Player start is at the edge of a large circular area with light gray walls. Sky is visible. There's a Spider Mastermind in the center. Not enough weapons and ammo to kill it so you need to activate a crusher or just ignore it. You can exit the area by running at the corridors at the side of the circle. After leaving the circular area you come to a large open cliff side with brown rock textures and water at the bottom. You need to go to the other side on the ledges to get a key and then enter a narrow hallway and somewhere there's an exit. The exit is in smallish cavern with brown rock and water. I think it's a pretty recent map. Played it this year. Can't remember if there were other maps in the WAD. 0 Quote Share this post Link to post

DoomNoob Posted November 20, 2018 (edited) I doubt anyone will remember any of these... they were from way, way, way, way back in the day, like early 90's. There were a couple I remember: 1. One was called big.wad I think? This would have been for Doom 1 I believe. It was just a medium room with a bunch of enemies in it, and I think when you started you were facing a few switches on the wall with Pinkies right behind you. Nothing fancy. In fact it was a pretty terrible map but it was one of the first wads I had ever tried so it has nostalgic value for me. It was the first time I had actually seen a Cyberdemon or Spider Mastermind since I played it before I had ever played Doom Episode 2 or 3. 2. One was kind of a greenish rockish level with the brown poles and torches I think with the exposed sky, in the style of the hell levels of Episode 3. Notably, it had "Joy To The World" MIDI as the music. Forgot the name of the .wad. I remember not being able to finish the level -- could never find the exit. (It was either hard to find or it didn't exist). Edited November 20, 2018 by DoomNoob 1 Quote Share this post Link to post
