TheDarkArchon Posted July 2, 2012 ZDoom 2.6.0 is now released, after not having an official release since 2010. Get it here. A list of new features can be found here, which includes swanky things like 3D floors and voxels. 0 Share this post Link to post
Avoozl Posted July 2, 2012 Does this mean it will eventually render gzdoom is useless? 0 Share this post Link to post
Phobus Posted July 2, 2012 Not if you like the OpenGL renderer and all it entails. 0 Share this post Link to post
RjY Posted July 2, 2012 Hopefully an actual release of svn code will inspire the brutal doom author to fix the torch sounds. http://www.doomworld.com/vb/post/1060254 0 Share this post Link to post
DaniJ Posted July 2, 2012 Congrats to the ZDoom devs on pulling out of the development nosedive and getting this release out. Sounds like there are some interesting new features too. 0 Share this post Link to post
Colusio Posted July 2, 2012 That secret hint system is a great idea, I hope it will be picked up by prboom+. 0 Share this post Link to post
Katamori Posted July 2, 2012 Lol I didn't noticed that ZDoom wasn't updated for 2 years...I always prefer GZDoom and fortunately, it was updated more often. 0 Share this post Link to post

Janizdreg Posted July 2, 2012 GZDoom got a new release as well. Get it here. The GZDoom website hasn't yet been updated to reflect this though, apparently due to some technical difficulties with Graf Zahl's ISP. 0 Share this post Link to post
elic Posted July 3, 2012 Heh, I remember 2.5 was released around when I first started lurking on Doomworld. Anyways, nice to see that ZDoom won't be stuck on the same version for all eternity... 0 Share this post Link to post

TheShep Posted July 5, 2012 There is a floating decapitated bunny head on the menu. Any reason for that? 0 Share this post Link to post
The Green Herring Posted July 5, 2012 That would be the mouse cursor used when running a Doom game in it. ;) Glad to see there is finally a new, stable release. 0 Share this post Link to post

I didn't even bother moving the mouse to see that it was a cursor. I use the keyboard when moving around on the menu, so I thought it was some glitch or something. I'll leave it as is I think. 0 Share this post Link to post
Csonicgo Posted July 7, 2012 I see the bunny hates me. I use the menu and if my mouse moves a bit, the selection moves up to the bunny head. heh. how about a little delay between the keyboard presses and the bunny head taking focus? 0 Share this post Link to post

I personally went back to disabling the mouse for menus in the aforementioned Mouse settings. I thought about setting it to "Chex", but I didn't. 0 Share this post Link to post

Change the Enable mouse in menu setting to "Touchscreen-like" so that selection isn't changed by the cursor moving over something, or "No" to disable it altogether. 0 Share this post Link to post

Hmm... Speaking of that, is someone actually planning to port ZDoom to touchscreen devices? 0 Share this post Link to post
