I think NRFTL should be It's own thing, seperated and usable without Lost Levels If anyone didn't feel Interested In Lost Levels, but NRFTL Instead. That's just my Idea.

Also, I think you should take out "I don't think this shit will ever end, you say to yourself", or take out "Shit". It takes all the spookiness out of PSX DOOM In my opinion, even though It feels a bit badass. It doesn't fit for PSX DOOM. Also, I think a voice like In the ending to the first two games would be a nice touch.

Oh, and the seven dots at the last lines of text Is a bit annoying to me personally, maybe three dots would be better.

Ok, guys, we (I?) had a work now!

Ragnor, thank you very much for searching those issues. Habitat is especially wretched map which one I "remade".

Well, zmapinfo will be fixed, of course. Habitat will be fixed. Also...wait, THE SKY IS WRONG???

Damn it, I remember that I used different skies for different maps. But I see somebody just ignored/deleted my "code" in zmapinfo.

Must be redone again.

Agree with you. I did a voice over (asked that guy who did demon voice for the trailer) but after I rejected this idea due to speed issues. Text is going very slow for voice but not so slow for eyes.

BTW, can somebody fix Ending text, please? Type here new version, I'll add it inside project.

LOOKS LIKE THAT ROCKET LAUNCHER YOUR GRANDKIDS GIVED YOU WAS USABLE IN THE AFTER LIFE...

YOU DID IT. YOU DEFEATED THE HORRORS OF HELL ONCE AGAIN.

YOU WIPE THE SWEAT OFF YOUR FACE AND LOOK AT THE FIREY BRIMSTONE SKY.
"WILL THIS EVER END?", YOU SAY TO YOURSELF.

YOU DECIDE TO STAY IN HELL AND ENSURE NO OTHER MONSTER REINCARNATES THE ARMY OF DEMONS...

UNLESS THERE'S A EVEN NASTIER DEMON.

I would test things more indepth, but my actual job as a QA tester takes away my Doom time.

I would say that skies have been changed around to reflect the original episode themes more closely, Habitat is a TNT Episode 3 map, thus it normally does have a red sky. Would make the map look a lot better if it was darkened to match Baron's Den. Its nice to see that sky being used though, there's often an overuse of the firesky :p It's a nice fit with the original TNT's red clouds.

If we are suggesting ending texts:

"From the lost moons of Mars, the cities of Earth and Jupiter, and even Hell itself, you have fought tirelessly through the endless hellspawn-infested void.

Maybe now you can rest, having felled the great demon that spawned these creatures

But you already know it in your heart: As long as even one demon still lives, there is No Rest for the Living.."

Kinda tacky, but hey, it sets up the next episode.

Yeah, I figured it was a D64 reference. We should mention that in the end for NRFTL.

The original afterlife idea was interesting, but since we have NRFTL almost complete and release-worthy, and Doom 64 planned, have to consider them too. So I thought "Lost Levels, lets assume PSX Doomguy is trapped in some sort of void dimension, and is fighting through discarded lost fragments of hell" This leaves it open-ended enough for him to escape and go do NRFTL's events, then D64 afterward. Also lets the project point towards the next release :p

For NRFTL I prefer original NRFTL ending text with addition about Doom 64 (Absolution).

About red clouds - ok, the red sky is good for red clouds. But don't forget about maps with "night sky". It should be "night skied" too. Anyway, I'll check every map for it.

P.S.: Ragnor's TLL ending text is good but no joke about rocket launcher :(((

Whoever wrote that needs to learn to use periods at the end of the sentences, and not just for ellipses. I trip on the "you asked for just as well". Also the change in subject (going third person narration and suddenly putting a first person phrase) is weird, it'd be more coherent with "you don't think this will ever end -- and maybe you don't want it to."

The night sky should generally be used for TNT maps 12 to 20, as its closest to the galaxy sky used. I wonder if Dead Zone was converted with another sky in place, as it is insanely bright. It would be pretty awesome to be fighting in the darkness outside, trying to break into the lit up compound in the middle.

I suggest adding in two more text interludes between the TNT and Plutonia levels, and one after the combined Doom/Doom2/Master Levels set, to give a sense of purpose. You can fit in rocket launcher jokes there :p

Yea, I tried my best. :\ I also agree too, we could just add In the original NRFTL ending and add In a nod to "The Absolution" or DOOM 64. At least my nod to It maybe.

Hey, If you guys want I could add In the NRFTL ending to the current version of the episode, It feels empty without It. Though, to be fair. It'd be best to try what I said and make the episode It's own thing Instead of adding It with Lost Levels, In case anyone wanted to only play NRFTL without Lost Levels, but eh.

Anyways, I'll see what I can do about the ending, trying my best to sort of contribute to the project, even If I don't have the mapping skills. I'm good with at least a Intermissions.

Let's think about NRFTL after The Lost Levels release, please :)

Try to do intermission text between Doom and Doom 2 lost levels, Doom 2 and TNT, TNT and Plutonia. As Ragnor said ;)

Alrighty! Though, to be fair. I can't really ADD Intermissions, but I can write them In notepad and add them In the forum (or private message), those ones I did Infact wrote were at 1 AM In the morning where my head Is someplace else. xD;

Anyways, I'll see what I can do about all that.

EDIT: Hopefully this Is good enough for a Intermission after you defeat The Spider Mastermind.

"You did It! You defeated the hideous Spiderdemon that masterminded the Invasion. You step Into a portal to your own realm, and see the green fields of Earth. Home at last!

You soon realize that the Demons have used the portal to teleport their way to Earth, you see that the city was almost destroyed by them

You walk Into the Demon Infested city, where the only sounds you hear are the abyss."

I'm gonna be guessing that the first part of the Lost Levels takes place In Hell, so hopefully this connects to the DOOM II portion of things. I actually wanted to mention Daisy and some humorous stuff, but that would ruin the feel.

I don't think so. Lost Levels can't be so connected to the first maps. I never thought about this project as massive pack of flashbacks. So, your text doesn't suits situation at all, sorry.

Maybe I'm wrong. Guys, what do you think?

Ah, I'll see If I can come up with something, the way I see It, It's pretty much a entirely new game (at least It's an sort of fan conversion).

But Yea, I'll see If I can come up with something that doesn't connect to the originals. But maybe It's a entirely new marine?

EDIT: I tried my best to not mention much of the past maps (the original DOOM/DOOM II maps).

"You cackle as the Spiderdemon explodes In gory brain matter, you teleport out of the citadel and see that demons have taken over the city and possibly among that.
You grin as you cock your shotgun and head Into the abanndoned city.

The only thing you can hear now, Is the abyss, the snorts and the laughs of demons..."

Sort of based It on the DOOM 64 Intermissions.

It's fine, I'm trying to help as well. If I did In fact have the mapping skills I could remake the Wolf3D levels PSX DOOM style, It's possible since those are pretty little maps, but I'll have to either find a tutorial on doing a PSX-style map or something.

Honestly, the Doom/Doom 2 segment is too short for a text interlude. Just group them and Master Levels together as one "block"

Forsaken Keep starts with Doomguy rising from the ground, so thats enough material for the rocket launcher joke :p

Think of it less as hell and more of a void. PSX Doomguy has already been to the moons of mars, hell, etc, and would be rather confused to find himself warping between such places. Lost fragments of reality :p

So, I'm getting GZDOOM Builder, I'll be working on the PSX DOOM Wolf3D levels, I'll try to make the levels seem fitting and work (putting minor hellish changes to them and all), It'll make them seem like a whole different secret level, kinda like Club DOOM, expect there's Nazis Involved. Hopefully I'll be able to put the SS Nazis In It, If not than I'll just use Zombiemen like In the BFG Edition DOOM (expect there's actual Nazi Imagery).

You do realize the DooM 2 secret Wolf3D levels were already done by BaronOfStuff right? Unless you are talking all the levels from the game Wolf3D itself being converted to PSX like fashion.

Ah, I didn't know. =v=; Actually, getting a level from Wolf3D and making It PSX style Is an good Idea, though I think E1M10 from Wolf3D would make for a good PSX DOOM style map.

Thank you guys for attempting to work! Job's inter-text looks better but I think you can do something interesting too, Trtitnew!

And agree with Ragnor - it's better to add few inter-text blocks into big 1 after...for example Doom 2' last level (before Master Levels).

So, why I'm here now:






Added simple translucent waterfalls, fixed colored outside lighting, fixed texture bug with faterfall, fixed texture bug with doors (where is blue key), fixed Revenant spawn near the yellow key (somebody [me?] forgot to delete Archvile), fixed wrong placement of rocket-box near the exit (sprite was in wall).

So, what's next? (except the names in zmapinfo + intertexts)

Mini-update:

Fixed wall in level start (look at first screenshot - the wall near waterfall is kinda wrong placed. FIXED NOW)
