*Begins converting Earth Base, looks at the ridiculous amount of stuff I would have to cut or modify* Yeah, fuck that. Anyone wants to do it, go right ahead.

OK, so I went back and finished this after all.
Background for those that don't know: TWM01.wad was a submission for the Master Levels by Tom Mustaine (TNT MAP01, PARADOX.WAD), that was rejected for essentially being a ripoff of Doom 2 MAP14, but before this rejection happened, it seems it had already been converted for PSX Final Doom, though of course, it was cut after it was rejected from the Master Levels. Perhaps in that sense, it is the truest lost level out of all those we have converted for this project.

Didn't test it extensively, but it's such a small level it's probably good to go. Given how well The Inmost Dens turned out on PSX, I reckon this would've run just fine. Yeah fire sky maps were usually full bright, but we can see from the screenshot that wasn't that case with this one. Music is PSXMUS14, naturally.

DOWNLOAD - Plays on LOST73

EDIT: Second row, left screenshot shows a random bright sector. That's fixed already.

Ahhh splendid, the screenshots sure look like as if they've come from Final Doom, should we put it in with the rest of the levels but as a secret level?

I think it makes perfect sense to include it, though of course I would say that :D

So, question is where the player comes from to get to it. My first thought was Neurosphere, as both maps are based on The Inmost Dens, and I think I want to edit Neurosphere's start area anyway, as it is way too slaughtery IMO.
Then again, this is supposedly part of the Master Levels episode, whereas Neurosphere is Plutonia.
Or maybe it could just be one of those warp-only maps.

I had a secret exit planned for Redemption back when we were working out where to throw in the secret maps and whatnot. I can't remember if we went ahead and used that version of the map, but I can find/recreate it easily enough if it's needed.

I say go ahead with putting it in Redemption, would be interesting.

I'm sure this will get a Cacoward after it's finished.

Also, does it require the original PSX DOOM TC? As for my preference, I think it would be good if it's a stand-alone episode.

Yes the PSX DOOM TC is required due to sprites, graphics, sounds, enemy behavoir, etc etc. The Lost Levels is a stand-alone episode, the original map order in the TC is exactly the same with the LL loaded.

@Eris Falling

Perfect! I really dreamed about this level in our project.

@ Everyone

So, what's status of the project?

I'd say it's pretty much done and dusted as soon as I stop procrastinating and set up the secret exit to Redemption. Watch this space...

Unrelated:
My 'other' project has been tested for being converted to PSX style, and, well, this is the result:

Edit:
Here it is,Redemption with a secret exit. One of those types that requires the use of sound cues to notice that something, somewhere, has moved (at the last moment!).

Ok, so I should make last .txt patch for my music addon, when main project will be finished in 100%

P.S.: A video - "random" maps turned into psx style? I thought about Strife at first moment...

Greetings. I've two small (command) questions I've been trying to find answers to for a while. Is it possible to use the idclev command or another method to change level inside the Lost Levels episode? It's working only for the other episodes. Last question related to the first one is about how to load the most recent wad since it loads on LOST73.

idclev only works on maps that use the usual MAPxx convention. You can use either the map or changemap commands. Both do the same thing except changemap takes you to the intermission screen first and you keep your weapons and stuff.

As an example, the map you're trying to load is done like this

map LOST73

Huge thanks. Everything works!

@Eris Falling - Had zero issues finishing the Innermost Dens wad. Pretty great job.
@DeXiaZ - Amazing Doom64 vibes in your custom music package. I liked a lot the music at Mount Pain, Odyssey of Noises, Mephisto, Bad Dream and Dis/Go2It.

Overall amazing job with this TC. I was very amazed by everything. Clearly, the PSX engine and music enhanced the atmosphere in these stages a lot. I played this TC right after Doom64 TC. I wonder if PSX-ing "No Rest For The Living" is possible.

It's been discussed numerous times and the general consensus is that it is possible, but would take a lot of time and other such nonsense to bring the maps to a believable state of (reduced) detail in order to fit in with the requirements.

Thank you! Glad you liked it!

BaronOfStuff is right!
It's possible, if we are talking about "technical" side of this question. But impossible via old team - most of us possibly tired for simplifying original maps.

And I think we should try anything about NRTFL after The Lost Levels release (hey, it's still not released, it's just "Trial/Really Final Beta" version ;))

P.S.: As always sorry for bad eng

I'm really sorry, but I've been pretty uninvolved in this project for quite some time now, and the notifications about new posts were going to my spam folder without me realizing. It's definitely been a collaborative effort. Feel free to create a new thread and release it officially if everyone involved agrees that it's finished :)

I'm 100%, absolutely, agree with RELEASING/FINISHING :)

It's almost finished, Redemption just needs a secret exit for the Lost Final Doom level and it's all good. :)

Very good. Did you used my first try of this map (with a lot of things which must be deleted, yeah)?

Also, we should start new topic with "No Rest For The Living" maps?

P.S.: What about zmapinfo for LL?

I started from scratch. I say keep it here just in case.

As for ZMAPINFO, I was thinking of putting it after Plutonia if possible, maybe do a seperate ZMAPINFO just for it.
