@Bryan T they’re currently occupying the slots they’ll hold in the final version. But yeah for convenience’s sake maybe I’ll get into SLADE and make them consecutive if I have a chance tonight.

The levels are now consecutive, as reflected in the first post.  Should be easier to playtest in sequence this way.  I can't be bothered to make the level titles appear in deHackEd properly but since it's a demo I'm not sure how much of a priority that is anyway

Okay, I played through them.

It's a good challenge on UV. I found myself getting irritated how much I was getting pelted by random guys, so monster placement is good.

Map06 killed me with a crusher so I skipped that one.

Map07 is too damn big. I got fed up with looking for the next place so I jumped to the end. I ended it with 92% kills.

Map08 is also huge but I managed to find my way.

I've updated the OP with a bit more information about the maps, including some notes about the ones I haven't finished yet (I need three enemy sprites, which I'm trying to make myself, and have envisioned enemies with as few frames and even directions of animation as possible, but well I'm absolutely terrible at spriting.)  I've also modified MAP08 again, I cut out a lot of the bullshitting around and back-and-forth in an effort to make the layout less confusing.  There's also a couple more visual cues to call the player to what needs to be done (I hope), so maybe the map won't be quite the disorienting slog that it's been.  At any rate that map is the highest priority for testing.  Note that most of the map is optional, which was always kind of my intention.

 

EDIT: I had to reshuffle the maps a bit because I realized MAP07 couldn't be in the MAP06 slot, so sorry, they don't get to be consecutive (unless I reorder them, but eeeeeh).  It should now be okay to download.
