Xfing Posted May 11, 2018 Great level! Aesthetically fitting, devilishly hard and has a confusing layout that needs to be learned and practiced. A definite hit! The only thing I'm a bit apprehensive about is the Spoiler spider mastermind in this level. That stuff can really break suspension of disbelief, I feel. Spoiler It primarily conflicts with the ending text. Xfing Posted May 13, 2018 Same. Spider Masterminds were supposedly high-ranking military leaders, each one being given responsibility for a large chunk of Hell's forces. I think id definitely meant to make the mastermind singular again for episode 4, given the episode ending text quoted above. Granted, a gameplay demo has been announced for August 10, but that's the only date that I've seen. A full-fledged nine level vanilla episode replacement for Thy Flesh Consumed, to be loaded and played alongside the original DTWiD release! From the text file: The Ultimate instalment in the TWiD series of WADs, comprising nine levels that were designed by a hand-picked team to both look and play as though they came from the minds of Romero, McGee, Green, Anderson and Willits. Liberties have been taken to ensure a mostly authentic experience that is a little more consistent in its difficulty than the original, but no less varied and surprising. Expect devilish designs and unforgiving traps. Expect Thy Flesh Consumed :) The WAD is versioned as Release Candidate 2 or RC2, but it is hoped that no additional changes will be needed for the contents of the maps themselves, and that this will be the version uploaded to /idgames at the end of the month. Some notes: Vanilla/-Complevel 3 (Ultimate Doom) All skill settings fully implemented. Balanced and tested for in cooperative, with multiplayer-exclusive content. Deathmatch starts placed but not balanced around (not The Way id Did!). Par times and authentic death demo not yet included. What a deal breaker! I would like to put a good word in for all my co-authors for putting up with my lazy, disorganized ways in the four years it has taken for this episode to finally come to fruition. Yep, because of a problem with Doom Builder removing lower textures when the neighboring sectors are the same height and sometimes it can go unnoticed. This is why you need to always double check.
