Obsidian's One-hour Map Repository

Recommended Posts

The Architect.

It is done! An excellent boss battle to round off the set! It was tricky putting this one together and it took more than just mapping to make it happen, but it is finally done! Huzzah!

WHAT? No download link?

I'm not going to give this one away just yet: keep your eyes peeled for the fully compiled set of my one hour speedmaps, coming soon!

Congratulations, Obsidian! One hour speedmaps or no, it takes some steely determination to see out a megawad by your lonesome. And in under a month, too! That's Megakhorus!

Looking forward to playing the compiled collection.

That looks like a fun boss map based off the screenshot - Looking forward to blasting through all of these in one sitting!

Just a quick note: I got an email from timpa@comcast.net that provided some useful feedback on some of the maps. It'd be cool to know who sent it to me so I can include them in the textfile. :)

You're welcome. You know, I don't send people notes on their wads often, maybe a dozen times over the last 15 years. I figure "Who the hell am I?" and that the author or some other experienced wad-maker will catch the same things I did. You're the first person to actually acknowledge receiving them. Thank you. Looking forward to the final release.

Any word on the final compilation? I was eagerly waiting for this, to play the entire thing in one go. :)

At the moment the final product is so bug-infested that I've left it for a while until I get the motivation to hack away at it again: it's usually how I operate when it comes to difficult stuff. :/ Just for you though I'll give it another shot.

Did you need help fixing remaining bugs? I was under the impression that most of them got squashed already.

I'll let you know if there's anything I can't fix or work my way around. Also I think the credits for you will take up most of the textfile, you've been a huge help. :D

Countdown to Extinction, actually. Your idea isn't bad though. :P

It could be the subtitle!

I'll be downloading it once its done regardless. I like simpler looking maps every so often.

Hah, you're welcome. Anyhow I don't mind trying to fix more things, so feel free to send me the current version if you want help because of lack of motivation/inspiration, and not just because you're stuck from a technical standpoint.
