How Does Scripting for Hexen Work?

Does it work like ZDoom ACS or is it entirely different?

It IS ACS.

ZDoom's ACS is an extension of Hexen's ACS. You won't have as many features available, but it is the same language, minus a whole mess of additional features.

Not sure where to find the list of what ZDoom adds, in terms of functions and specials, vs. what was a part of Hexen's spec. It's a lot.

But either way, it's largely the same, minus Fixed Point numbers and named scripts and boolean types (although that last one is easily handled by a later version of the compiler).
