Messing about with colours again...

Ha, nice. It's interesting how the engine paints the darker sectors in a more greenish hue, or at least it seems greenish next to all the red. Not sure if it's a deliberate effect or just a lighting quirk.

Man, that's awesome. The outdoor shots look like an HR Giger painting with that palette.

You were not fucking kidding...

Spoiler

I'm soaking this up like water in a sponge..I love HR Giger's work
..and playing without the HUD is really helping!

I guess I misunderstood, I thought he was talking about how making it tiling.

I should probably make a tutorial on this or something. Maybe in a few weeks.

For now, if you use Gimp, you can select Layer->Transform->Offset, select "Offset by x/2, y/2" and it will offset your picture so that you can see the seams assuming there are some, then you can work on correcting them.

That is how I made it in the first place- start painting it in the middle of canvas then offset with Photoshop and fill in the rest~

lurking trought my files i found a old screen from a project which DMPhobos and myself were working:

we wanted to make a doom wad based from Smash T.V from snes, basically resumes on, players only can take 1 shot, but also does no-boss monsters (killing high amount of them in those arena rooms). probably we would work it once we finish our current project

I love this thread.

Hey mutt it's a good thing you enabled God mode; those killer shadows would've been the end for yo-- *ducks a tomato*

Why are there shadows? There's no sun or anything like that.

THere are shadows wherever light exists.

Yes, this works in Vanilla.

Sorry, if it's hard to make out due to Chocolate Doom's resolution, (Updated to PRBoom screenshots) but that is a flat above those platforms. All objects standing on the platforms work correctly.

You can even walk on the platforms, although the illusion is destroyed if you look at the edge/use a larger platform/use mouselook.

This took quite a bit of brainstorming!

A tutorial would be quite nice, I'd love to see how that is done!
